I’ve added subtitles to Osomatsu-san’s season 4 trailer! There’s not, like, a ton of information we can’t infer from the video only, but I thought it could be interesting! Enjoy!
#reblog#osomatsu-san#I didn't even know there was a trailer! :0#yaaay#I actually don't know if I'll be able to watch season 4 while it comes out#please I don't want to wait or risk spoilers OTL

I wanted to draw the Matsuno sextuplets for their birthday, but existence is suffering right now so I guess it's not gonna happen this year either. Happy Birthday anyway to my beloved NEETs!
I recently did draw something unrelated that I'm thinking of sharing, so maybe I'll get around to scanning and posting that, eventually. Nothing big though, so it doesn't feel worth the effort right now

I've gotten a few asks warning of a raid of sorts on Christmas where a group of people are going to send gore etc. in asks to random people. Whether or not this will actually happen I don't know, but there are some simple things you can do to protect yourself if you are worried!
Turn off anonymous asks
Turn off media in asks
You can see both of these in your blog settings (not the general settings for your whole account, specifically the blog settings).
You can also turn off asks entirely if you're really worried. I take warnings about things like this with a grain of salt, but there's no harm in taking precautions for a day or so if you're worried! I figured a single short post like this would be more efficient than answering each ask about it, haha. You can change your settings back once you feel like the coast is clear.
#reblog#wow#apparently this is a thing I guess#I'll change my settings just in case#thanks for the warning#stay safe everyone!

A writer friend told me something that broke my heart a little bit today; they're going to quit publishing their fanfic.
My instant thought was that they had been trolled or attacked or that something terrible had happened in their life because this person is so passionate about their writing. It wasn't any of that. Engagement with their works has been going down, as it has for many of us. Comments are like gold dust a lot of the time, and just looking through the historical comment counts on old fics on ao3 demonstrates this trend very clearly. It was not simply the comments dropping off which caused them to decide to stop posting, however.
My friend came across a discord server for their fandom (I should point out here that their fandom interest and mine diverged a couple of years ago, we stay in touch but don't currently read each other's posts because I'm not into their fandom and they would rather gouge their eyes out with a wooden spoon than read anything Star Wars) and specifically to share fic in that fandom. They joined, because we all love a good fic rec, only to discover that their latest multichapter fic, which has almost no comments and very few kudos, is being hotly discussed in this server as one of the best stories ever. Not one of these people has bothered to say this to them on the fic. When they asked, none of participants could see the point in telling the author of the fic they apparently loved so much that they love it.
This discovery has absolutely destroyed my friend's love of sharing fic. They share because they love seeing other people's enjoyment, and fic writers do that through comments and kudos/reblogs/likes because we don't get paid. There is no literary critic writing a blog post/article about how amazing the story is for us to copy and keep/frame. There is no money from royalties. All we have are the words of the people reading our works.
Those people on that server could have taken five minutes of the time they spent gushing about how amazing my friend's story was to other people and used it to tell the one person guaranteed to want to hear that praise how much they loved it. They could have taken a moment to express their opinion to the person who spent hours upon hours plotting, writing, editing, and posting those chapters. Instead, they deprived my friend of thing that keeps them sharing their writing, and in the process have killed their love of it. My friend now feels used and unmotivated.
I won't be sharing a link to their fic, they said I could share their experience but not their identity. I know they plan to post one final chapter. I know they intend to express their hurt at being excluded from the praise for the thing they created, and I know they intend to announce that as a consequence they will not be posting for a long while, if at all.
So please, I beg you, don't hide your love of a story from the writer. It's just about the only thing we have.
#reblog#this really is depressing#I can easily see myself not sharing my writing anymore either if this happened to me#it's discouraging when any art I share doesn't get a response#but seeing people love my art can help fuel my creativity/motivation and lead to more art!#at this point I want to finish writing a fic before posting chapters one by one over time#though if people decide there's no point in commenting since the fic is complete and they assume I'll update anyway...#I may decide it's not worth sharing after all and keep it for myself#I understand that commenting can be difficult for a variety of reasons#and I want to get better about this myself#but please comment on fics/art you love if/when you can#I think most writers and artists love comments even if they're just emojis or an entire essay/rant#and multiple comments for each chapter/reread? wonderful. encouraging. not annoying or too much I promise.#I know there are exceptions and creatives who only want “constructive” comments#but honestly they could make that clear upfront and you are NOT in the wrong for showing love/support in other ways#I for one appreciate you so much <3

Socializing with strangers is hard. One moment you're responding to obligatory small talk, the next you're sweeping the floor together in awkward silence, and then the very second you finally think of something else to say and break the silence, the other person vanishes before your eyes. Typical.
#pietalks#awkward experience I just had#the result of bad timing I guess#if I had just spoken a second sooner...#oh well.#they initiated the experience and fled from it#I did my best#even though I wasn't there to socialize in the first place

So I got into Cookie Run: Kingdom, and uh. Let's just say I've found it quite difficult to put down. Low-key it's kind of a problem ahdgkhsk
#pietalks#cookie run kingdom#I could gush about the character designs and voice acting and the generous gacha#if I wasn't so busy playing the game I mean#I need to draw fan art sometime gosh#actually pretty overwhelmed with how much there is to do and learning how things work in the game#but hopefully it'll get easier after the upcoming update#with event deadlines drawing near it's hard to take my time

I would like to apologize to every single one of my wips ever
#reblog#but maybe I'll get around to them someday#so is it failure?#in any case I don't want to think of it as failure#even if leaving ideas unstarted/unfinished makes me sad sometimes#if I really want to draw a thing it's not too late#and if I lost interest in the idea then scrapping it isn't such a bad thing#or even a permanent decision#art is supposed to be fun#whoops I didn't mean to argue against this post#just adding my thoughts#I do understand the feeling

I am actually begging some people to just let some spaces exist untouched by real-world issues and horrors.
Like I've lost count of the amount of times peaceful game or fandom servers have been ruined by people stampeding in with political rants, bitching about world issues, demanding internal activism, demanding vent channels so they can whine about their shitty parents, ect.
Like. Respectfully. Not every single space has to be inclusive of and welcoming of outside topics. The real world sucks. We don't needed to be reminded of that absolutely everywhere.
