Latula is a bad girl. Latula is just the worst at being a girl. She's a good teal, sure, but she doesn't even like being that. She spends all her free time in the woods with the lost weaboos, playing sports and games and anything she can get her hands on. Frankly, it's just a nice distraction from how she knows they all look at her.

Growing up can be really hard, especially for someone like Latula. You spend all your time playing with friends without considering arbitrary things until one day your body looks different and suddenly, they won't treat you how they used to because you're a girl. And you can try to be one of the boys, but they'll always look at you differently because you are different.

She doesn't want to be a lawyer, or a legislacerator, or nothing of the sort. She just wants to be a kid as long as she can be, but it's blatantly obvious she's running out of time, so she's going out on her own terms. She isn't a perfect girl, she's crass and rude and messy and vulgar. She pisses off any "good girl" by not fitting in right and not caring that she doesn't.

Latula is insanely competitive and won't stop trying to beat someone until she does. She holds several different highscores amongst the lost weaboos. When she plays sports, she HAS to be on the winning team or else she'll lose her shit on her own side. If she can't beat anyone at what she's doing, she still tries to be the best. She skates and performs over the top tricks for the awe she can get from people watching. You can find her playing double dutch on her lonesome with machines she's got set up.

PORRIM MARYAM

Porrim Maryam, Maid of Space, 6 sweeps (13), She/Her, Broomkind, guidedAlong

Porrim is a good girl. Porrim is the goodest of good girls. Always on her best behavior and looking out for others. It's a very rare occurrence for a virgin Mother Grub to become a custodian, almost unprecedented. But what's more unlikely is for the grub to refuse the lusus and stay within the brooding caverns willingly. That just makes her the poster child of dedication to her birthright.

Night in and night out, she spends her time tending to grubs and the mother grub herself. Her life is one of routine and dedication, one she is happy to follow. She's lived among jadebloods her whole life and has never met someone her age that isn't another pure maiden just like her- in person, anyways.

The caverns allow for an hour of husktop time per jadeblood. She's found herself an online friend group, strange and unlike anyone she's ever met before. She's even gotten herself a matesprit, one she has sworn herself to. One day, he'll be old enough to come into the caverns, sweep her off her feet, and they'll never have to look back again as they sail away into the twilight. But Cronus isn't old enough just yet, so she's more than happy to wait for him.

She spends a lot of her time online fretting about her strange friends, primarily Kankri and Latula. Not only does she know Kankri is a mutant (though Cronus tries to tell her she simply imagined it and saw things wrong), but she knows how unhealthily he lives and keeps pushing for him to change. On the other end, Latula doesn't seem to care about her status as a woman at all and is crass and vulgar. Clearly, Porrim has to show her how to be a proper lady by example.

Meulin has an online reputation that proceeds her. She's a little infamous. Three sideblogs nuked and discoursing away on her fourth about how it's ableist to cancel her for writing RPF shipping of her friends and their ancestors because she's autistic and shipping is her special interest, and she stims by writing slash fic. She's literally neurodivergent and a minor and a lowblood! Few people know she's not actually autistic, but saying she is to stir up drama.

She is, above all, a problematic tumblr girlie. She WILL tell you to off yourself if you call her a misogynist for violently hating a woman who gets in the way of her yaoi. Piss her off enough and she'll anonymously send you a snuff fic of your favorite character murdering you. You could cancel her for anything and still find insane bullshit she's up to.

She's something of a liar too, to the degree of the Hamiliton fanfic writer "hivliving". Why YES, she's broke and a mutant and has an abusive matesprit and also transgender and lusus-less. Defend her problematic smut online because she's so oppressed, please?

If she's not fighting shipping wars, she's watching anime with her matesprit. She loves Kurloz lots, because he's just so weird and mysterious and supports her in everything. If she really can't get groupies to attack her haters, she has Kurloz send them nightmares.

They had a perfect meet-cute in an anime store where they both reached for the same CD. They then bonded over the only anime Kurloz had seen, Soul Eater. Ever since, they've been inseparable. Well- they're a little long distance, but he visits regularly and calls her every day.

Meulin is partially deaf and has problems with her volume. She swears up and down it was an accident, but she can tell Kurloz still feels guilty about the whole experience. The blunt force trauma to the head was an accident. Her matesprit would never hurt her. She just wakes up doing things she doesn't remember doing and regularly has telepathic communication sessions with Kurloz. So what if he can pry into her mind? It's just matesprit things.

Taken from her home for months on end, Damara was thrown back into a world that resembled Alternia- but everyone was gone. Not a living creature in sight. It’s hard to place her exactly because I’m still trying to decide how I want her incident to go, alongside Kurloz. They’re tied tight…

Kurloz’s Scratch-ly interventions may have pushed them together? He probably sought her out specifically. Maybe they used to be moirails before she became deaf (Kurloz’s fault directly) (Does she know?), then vacillated? And I still can’t place the level of mind control theyve for going on…

I think she’s fairly out of touch with how bad things actually are. She’s lived a pretty good life all things considered and being the lowest midblood means that she isn’t likely to get culled for stupid bullshit, but she isn’t likely to be important. She thinks clowns are hawwwt and Kurloz doesn’t want to hear it.

Maybe she’s partially deaf currently due to Kurloz, and Kurloz has taken a “vow of silence” without doing the extremes quite yet…
