✨Ominis Gaunt Sneak Peek - Desperate ✨

“For hell’s sake!” He’s exasperated with you and it’s clear he’s done listening to you try and defend yourself. All you can do now is listen. “Your goddamned death wish doesn’t only effect you!”

His breath is ragged, coming out fast as his chest falls up and down. Ominis tightens his grip on your hips, his fingers digging in so hard you’re sure they’ll leave bruises.

He doesn’t care about that right now. He doesn’t care about anything right now except getting you to listen to him. He’s desperate that you keep your eyes on him. Keep listening. Maybe something will finally click.

He takes a deep breath, trying to steady his breathing. His expression seems cold but there’s so much in it. He’s scared. He’s angry. He’s desperate for you to understand.

One of his hands snakes up your body and wraps around your neck, holding you tight. He needs you to understand how much your actions have effected him. Broken him.

“I’m fucking terrified I’ll lose you before I ever even get the chance to try and keep you.”

Silver Springs (Part 1 - Preview)

A snippet from my Ominis x Reader fic "Silver Springs" on AO3

Of course, it is also for the woman of today to exert a secret but significant influence on her spouse…”

“The most important question you should ask yourself every day right after you open your eyes: What can I do to make my husband's day as pleasant as possible for him?”

You silently ask yourself how many hours of detention Madam Scribner would impose for you burning one or two or all of those precious books.

“I’m uncertain if these books can fix you, my dear. Becoming a proper wife doesn’t happen overnight!” An amused-sounding voice whispered right next to your ear. Startled, you slam the book shut.  

“Sebastian! Gosh, the next time you’ll do this I will hex your buttocks together!”

The boy laughed as he jumped onto the armchair next to yours. Since the infamous Sebastian-Sallow-gets-his-ass-beaten-by-the-new-student-incident, you had spent some more evenings with Sebastian and Ominis in the common room, doing homework, making small talk, or just watching Ominis beating Sebastian in wizard chess. But often those two were nowhere to be found, before, between, or after classes, just for them to pop out of thin air the moment you stopped looking.

Whilst Sebastian used every opportunity to start a conversation with you, Ominis was much more reserved. You hadn't learned much more about the boy than what you had figured out in your first week. He was the heir of the Gaunt family – one of the sacred 28 pureblood wizard families – he used his wand to navigate through the castle, and his Wiggenweld potions were utter rubbish. 

You often find yourself staring at his face. Especially in History of Magic, which was still –  already?  – taught by Professor Binns. Ominis would sit right next to you, so close you could count the beauty marks on his face.  Wait, what? Beauty marks?  No, those were moles. And your staring was only for gathering information. Right.  

Maybe you should ask Sebastian for a combined study session to really get to know Ominis better. But the self-made Slytherin playboy would probably misread your request entirely.

“There’s nothing that could destroy the phenomenal look of my backside, thank you very much!” Sebastian’s laugh brought you back into the present. “But on a side note, there’s something I want to show you. You’re free after your little reading session ?”
