for 💤 anon!!! I love all of your idea! Especially the nature based ones. My states are born from parts of nature and often tie themselves to nature so this shows in their true forms! For example my New York's soul was created where the sky meets the sea during sunset, so he is tied to flight, the sun, the ocean and the horizon. Cause of this his true form has some water body parts and spots that glow like the sun while being fueled by fire. This is also how they get their first human names (they tend to change their name as time goes on but the first name is always kept). It's a name the land gives them when they connect to the place their soul was made. (York's is Marinus).

Helloo! I wanted to do a silly headcannons thing so here is what id think some states would play in marching band :D

Loui: Basically all instruments but trombone mainly

He’s been in too many jazz bands to count and his favorite has to be the trombone

Florida: Tenor Sax

He fits the chaos of all the sax section but the tenors have the most chaos in the whole band

Texas: Bass Drums

He always brags about “having the biggest instrument” but always forgets about Alaska

Alaska: Sousaphone

Biggest instrument and shunned to the back of the band

California: Pit

My marching band does not have a pit but i think cali would prefer standing around and playing a xylophone instead of marching

New York: Clarinet

He is the mean clarinet player we all know

PA: Trumpet

Thinks the world always thinks about him when in reality everyone thinks of him as annoying or an asshole

Midwest: Baritone

My friend told me that all of them would be in the same section and when they said baritones i was like “that many people playing baritone?” but it still fits i feel

I LOVE EVERYTHING ABOUT THE TRUE FORM STUFF ✨✨✨✨

When it comes to how I think that the states would be displayed in their true/divine forms, I think I take A LOT of inspo from creators like Neal Illustrator, MessyMoonMess, etc… where their versions of Greek Gods have a more human form, and then an even bigger, more divine and terrifying form when it’s needed/when strong emotions are present. I think it’d be a lot like that.

Their forms would correlate with stuff in their state and their state history and symbols. Such as New York having a crown a lot like Lady Liberty’s crown, both as a reference to her and a reference to his title of the "Empire State". But they also can have forms that correlate with the nature and natural elements in their states, Louisiana or Florida being known for the ocean and swamps could have some more water-based forms (think of Neal Illustrator’s "Get In The Water" animatic and Poseidon’s "god form").

^Other examples could be mountainous states (Colorado for example) having almost statuesque forms sometimes, or states like California having fire-based forms. Texas could be another example, whenever he’s in his true/divine form, he has a branch crown/wreath with a star in the middle like his coat of arms/state seal.

Im still putting a lot of thought into this stuff if you can’t tell-

My states do have some sort of divine forms which are called true forms. Basically with extremely strong emotions (i mean extremely) they shift into eldritch type creatures made of different animals and myths. Some states have features of animals on their flags and past flags, could have feature derived from state animals/fish/reptiles, or they can have features from cryptids and myths of their state. Basically they are THE cryptid. Their strength also depends on how strong and how powerful the state is.

Hmm spittin stuff out that I already headcannon. It's fifty people, they're Personifications of the states with p r o b l e m s and they've been around for extremely long amounts of time, shits gotta have happened to them at some point and screwed them over so I wouldn't doubt that most if not all of them are disabled in some way or another

ambulatory wheelchair user Texas because of a car accident

California uses elbow crutches do to both spine and leg problems

New York has breathing problems because my mans nearly got disemboweled once and his lungs took the hardest of that hit

Iowa became legally blind because he's severely allergic to a component of pepper spray (no I will not elaborate any further on this)

the Dakota's' have a twin disability, North is missing his right leg and South his left one

the Carolina's' were conjoined twins at one point but the surgery for separation went wrong and now South is missing both his right leg and arm and North is missing his left leg below the knee and his entire left arm, including parts of his shoulder blade

Alaska is wildly prone to passing out, I have not determined the cause though so I might come back with that later

this might be a new one to the fandom but Gov has narcolepsy and it's on the more severe side. He falling asleep or is asleep most if not all the time. He also tends to have frequent nose bleeds due to anemia

Florida has POTS has type 2 diabetes

Louisiana doesn't have OCD but he has the compulsive tendencies. Idk what's up with me but I do this, I don't have the fear part but I compulsively to stuff in frequencies of four (ex. Stepping on a certain surface 4 times, tapping 4 times on a specific surface in a certain way with each finger) and I'm reflecting that onto him now. He's also more prone to diseases 👍 autoimmune disease

Minnesota went blind because he was walking through the woods and he got stabbed by branches he ran straight into

Maine is extremely dyslexic, he has and always will struggle with reading due to this

Colorado's knees and hips are literally so fucked, he's gotten into so many accidents regarding his legs because of sports and general outside activity that he can't walk without some type of mobility aid now. He normally uses a cane but that can fluctuate to him using elbow crutches or even a wheelchair depending on pain levels

New Jersey's nerves don't register pain and he sometimes goes weeks or even years without knowing that he's hurt or broken part of his body because he can't feel pain. First time he hurt himself seriously, it was him him breaking his ankle and he walked on it for about 2 years without noticing and it healed wrong so he walks a bit odd now

ok ok the dakotas and carolinas are both so good. I've heard an ex-conjoined twins headcanon for the dakotas, but not for the carolinas- but it's wonderful for either pair!

also coco!! I hc him to play a lot of sports so I love the idea that he's gotten into enough accidents that he uses mobility aids now. that's just perfect

Mostly here to touch base

not in the fandom anymore but having been my first fandom experience definitely shaped me

Like, I have been slowly building my own personification universe that definitely wouldn't have existed without wttt

and I have noticed it having wildly changed how I learn and recollect history, I am bad at memorizing stuffy numbers, but thinking about it as an event in a character lives helps to remember it

Made reading more fun, improved my history grade, made learning easier

So thanks wttt I still really love you for what you have done for me even if I have moved on <3

Being a commie in this fandom is so interesting. Like if I was off anon I would be blocked by like over half the fandom lol. It's okay tho I don't expect a fandom about human versions of states to want to have discussions about politics like that

Also apparently I'm popular here. Didn't know that but apparently I'm a well known figure here in this fandom. Makes it extra interesting

yeah, in most fandoms, really, it's difficult to discuss politics too much. especially because fandom is a safe space for a lot of people, and it's nice to have a way to get away from "real world problems" for a bit. glad to have you though :)

I know quite a few of my headcannons would cause some discourse with others as I build them around the historical records of each state (with extensive research). My family tree, which stems on a historical sense as well, would have some shippers coming after me/j

I find that my headcannons do go against the loose cannon given to us which makes me feel like I’m creating my own characters but with the personality of the wttt states. I feel like this is the reason I don’t share much of what I’ve built for the states and their background. (Along side with the fact that I’ve noticed this fandom can be peculiar when it comes to different takes on the states)
