Dear Dad
Don't ever let anyone tell you how long or how you should grieve, or whether or not you should in the first place.
I made this because tomorrow (January 20th) is the 9th anniversary of my own dad's death. Everything in this comic is based off my own experiences with grieving him. I'm hundreds of miles from home and I'm not doing well so far away from family during this time of year.

"Oh thank goodness there's a book!" Abel gave a breath of relief, happily accepting the book and holding it to his chest. "Though...maybe if all else fails...we are in the choir together. So maybe music...can be our shared interest? Music's cool and fun, right?"
Adam: Hehe, sorry buddy. You didn't end up with 900 siblings by accident and you know you can ask me anything.

Abel saluted in agreement and scurried away to get as much snacks and food to share with his dad. He needed to make sure he had enough fuel for a rocking out session...and really, just getting time to hang out with his dad. Food was always a good buffer for when he didn't know what to say.
“Fuck yes!” Adam shouted, “Let’s find the snacks!” That wasn’t the only part he heard but it was the most important to him.
This doesn’t apply to the event going on as this rp has been going on before that event started

He backed off a bit but fought through his fear of her and took a deep breath. "I won't get in the way. Your way!" He specified. Since he's only ever heard the tales of Hell from Heaven's side, any rumors about retaliation made him feel a worry he hasn't felt since he was alive. A danger to Heaven and all of his friends and the afterlife he knew. He wanted to be useful. "Please? I know I'm not the best fighter but...maybe I can help with any sort of paperwork if there's any? The boring parts of it? I...wanna be useful."
"Well... don't. I don't need you getting in my way."
The last thing she wanted was to deal with Adam's weakling of a son, just because he was suddenly interested in their work.

He smiled as she held his face in her hands, a metaphorical warmth to them that seemed to make his angelic grace react. Or maybe it was these feelings of falling he had in him that caused him to blush at any and everything that was making him glow.
He felt his face get hotter at the kiss, and even more by the words spoken. This was a sort of love he himself hadn't ever experienced yet. Sure there was the love of Heaven, the Lord, friendship and companionship, and family. But not this sort of heated affection that caused his heartbeat to go crazy and have him feel desires that fueled instincts he was uncertain about.
"I've never felt like this about anyone...I'm afraid I'll be a fool with inexperience...but...you drive me crazy in all the best ways."
“ Abel…”
Breaking his concentration to speak up, the undead reached up to hold his cheeks, marveling at his appearance for a bit. With half lidded eyes and a warm smile, she then leaned up to press a small kiss to his lips — leaving behind a dark lipstick stain to mark her territory.
“ I adore you. Cherish. Love, even. “

Personal headcanon for my Abel...he cried out for his dad as he died.
When things were scary to him as a kid because they were shrouded in the unknown, he'd run to his dad and Adam would explain what things were and made Abel not be afraid anymore.
So he wanted his dad more than anything to help him understand the pain and the fear and the coldness that he's never felt before.
