((Sorry for the sudden inactivity. Things have cropped up IRL, and then I got caught up in this new AU I’m working on. All in all, I....kinda lost muse. But that doesn’t mean I’ve forgotten about this blog or the people I owe replies to. I don’t intend to abandon this blog or drop any threads. I’ll return once things have been sorted out. Please be patient with me. And again, I’m sorry.))

"don't worry 'bout it. i like k-knittin' things for folks. 'specially...," he paused so he could continue eating. Once he had finished his cookie he continued. "'s-specially for nice people like you." He blushed as he sipped his tea. "i u-uh...always try to repay the k-kindness shown to me. 'cause it r-really means alot, you know?" He picked up a sandwich and took a small bite. Whenever someone was nice to him that person was instantly special to Alt, and he always felt the need to show how he felt in the only way he knew how; given knitted gifts.
So Time liked the colour blue. Alt would keep that in mind for the next occasion. “e-egg bunnies are stuffed animals i k-knit. they’re b-bunnies shaped like e-eggs. i make ‘em i-in different c-colours.” He wouldn’t say so, but he was proud of his knitted creations, especially the stuffed toys. He mainly made those just to see if he could do it. “um, but you don’t have to a-accept it if you don’t w-want it.” His voice was glitching less; an indication of how relaxed and comfortable he was around the child.

Cran noticed that Dingy got sad when he mentioned that the greys had brought his mom back and it was only for a while. He had heard about the things greys could do on whims that weren't completely kind. He thought it best to distract the child. "Ya wanna show me the viliage? I like explorin’ new places. Mweh heh."

"Okay." He started to look around for a floatation device. What did those look like again? A donut? He tried to find a donut shaped thing, and almost missed one hanging on the side on a small hut near the pool. He ported to it, and after several hops managed to get it down. Cran then quickly ported back into the pool, doing an unintentional cannonball, and handed the floatation device to Razzy. "Here ya go," he panted

"Oh my gosh, are ya okay?!" Cran was instantly next to Razzy. He was worried about his friend now; she seemed to be having even a tougher time in the water than he had. "Don't worry, I'll help ya." He wasn't sure how, since he figured out how to move his tail by accident. But he would try his very hardest. "Um....," he tried to think of something, "somethin' to help ya with floatin' till ya get the hang of things?"
Eventually he decided to surface. Luckily the magic had extended to underwater breathing, but he still wanted to go up for a bit. He came up next to Razzy and grabbed onto the edge of the pool. He panted for a bit before starting to babble excitedly. “Oh my gosh. When I feel in I thought I was a gone goose, but I was fine and wow! I can breath down there too! And I think I figured out how to swim. Ya move your tail.” Cran took a breath to calm down. “So. Ya wanna try?” He held out his hand to Razzy and waited.

Alt smiled brightly as he took out the hat. It was a simple beanie hat, yellow-green in colour, with a pom pom in a matching green on top. The perfect thing to wear on a cold day. "i l-love all colours. green is one of m-my favorites though." He offered it a little shyly. Most would just see it as only a hat, but he always put care and feelings into his creations no matter what they were. "m-maybe one day i can m-make you an egg bunny."
Alt was surprised by this. He hadn’t known. He did vaguely remember some of the things he’d learned in history class but, he had wanted to be positive. Try to believe that maybe humans weren’t that bad. He carefully set aside his cup of tea and half eaten cookie, then held his arms out to Time. “i’m sorry. i-if i could help fix things i w-would. but the only t-thing i can do is…knit.” He waited to see if the child wanted a hug as his mind turned to the hat he had knitted. Would Time want it? He felt like trying to give the small child the cap as a gift. If they’d accept it.

Underwater, Cran was panicking. He hadn't meant to fall in. He flailed his arms and thought frantically, trying to figure out how to swim. By accident he swished his tail and it made him move. He paused in his spastic motions to consider this. He tried it again, this time keeping his arms at his sides. He moved more. He grinned and started swishing his tail, swimming around in a bobbing motion.
Cran thought about this. “Hmmm…maybe we should test this first. I’m still not sure ‘bout swimmin’ yet.” He didn’t want to admit it to Razzy, but he was afraid that even as a merskeleton he might not be able to swim. And he really did want to. But…he was a little scared of drowning. Just a little.

Well, what about those fairy tales and old lore stories about tricksters and demons who hurt people and or stole their souls?
“But….,” he pauses, “I’m a good person. Why would anyone wanna hurt me?” And almost too quietly to hear he mumbles, “And I don’t have much soul to steal.”

So how do you know this wolf is a "good fairy tale"?
“I don’t. But since I’m not a mean person I should be okay, yeah?”

Hey Cranberry! You know that fairy tales weren't always happy stories right?
“Yep. Cinderella’s mean step sisters got their eyes poked out by birdies.”

Cranberry sees a butterfly, follows it, it turns into a wolf and starts talking to him. Yep! Totally normal. Nothing weird here!
((Of course. It happens all the time in fantasy books and he reads tons of those when he can. So naturally it’s normal.))

"With me? Golly..." Cran's eye lights were star shaped. He didn't bother to question any of this. Fairy tales and fantasy stories had things like this in them. And they had to have been inspired by something. He'd save the details for later. Right now he had a new friend to make. "I'm Cranberry but people call me Cran. Mweh heh. So who are ya? And what do ya wanna do?" Which was a very good question. Maybe they could play a game?

Once Cranberry had been staring at the view for a while the butterfly started to flutter again. It flew into Cranberry’s view and then a few feet over the cliff. Just far enough to be out of Cranberry’s reach. Then the butterfly became almost colorless, but one could see it’s shape clearly like it was a perfectly butterfly shaped bubble. That shape quickly morphed and become a wolf. The wolf’s fur became gray and there was an energy surrounding its paws that was like a gentle sky blue flame. The morph happened within a few seconds and now the wolf still over the edge of the cliff and was looking at Cranberry curious of how he would react.
Cran smiled as the butterfly fluttered up. He liked seeing it fly. Then something strange happened. It fluttered just out of reach and….turned into a wolf? His jaw dropped in surprise and he was speechless for a few minutes. Eventually he found his voice. “Ya really are a magic butterfly! Why a wolf though? And why are ya way out there?” He kind of wanted to pet the wolf, but he doubted that it would be a good idea. He wasn’t afraid though. Just curious as to why all this was a thing.
The wolf walked toward Cranberry. As each of its paws made contact with the ground on the cliff the flame energy around its paw went away. When the wolf was in front of Cranberry it sat then laid down. Its eyes still looking toward Cranberry.
❂ Well, it’s a little more complex than magic, but you can call it that. I can take a lot of forms but I like being a wolf and a human best!
A child’s voice telekinetically spoke to Cranberry.
❂ I’m here because I thought it would fun to hang out with you!
