Hair

• Jack Abbot x Micheal ‘Robby’ Robinavitch

Note: Had this blurb sitting on the back burner for some time. May adapt it into a little comic at some point, stay tuned if you’d like, but yeah. Cheers xx

Jack could tell how Robby’s shift had been based on his hair. More often than not, it’d be a prickly mess atop his head, mussed about every which way. His other go-to tell would have been the roof, but thinking about how Robby looked the night of Pittfest made his chest tight.

He’d like to keep Robby off it as much as possible, thank you, or at least on the safe side of the railing.

Despite Robby’s frazzled look—seemingly visible to everyone else but himself—he rattled off updates with practiced ease. Jack could hear him, but he wasn’t listening. Instead, he was zeroed in on Robby’s goddamn hair.

“We’re still waiting on—“ Robby paused. He tilted his head and sighed.

“Jack—“

The taller man startled when Jack abruptly reached up and planted his hands atop his head, forehead creasing more when the Jack started patting down errant strands of hair.

Robby laughed then, “really?”

“Yes.” Jack stated.

“Did you even hear a thing I—“

“No, but I know you’ll repeat it for me anyways.”

Robby hummed his affirmation with a smile, eyes achingly fond in a way that Jack will tuck away for later. For now, he’ll claim the laxness in Robby’s demeanor as a small victory.
