We've sort of run into a bit of a problem.

For the past few days we've been hearing Knuckles from the Sonic cinematic universe in our head.

I mean, we've been escaping into media a lot recently thanks to resurfacing trauma, and we've already seen new fictives due to this.

It's not really an actual problem or anything. We always try to welcome and accept any new alters if (and when) they arise.

It's more just the fact that we were a little caught off guard with hearing comments from who we believe to be Knuckles.

So either we have yet another alter to keep track of, or we're just going crazy or something.

I don't think we normally jump into this conversation, (cuz people are a bit crazy and tend to jump to conclusions) but I'm going to talk about it cuz why not.

Just as an FYI, this is just me stating my own opinions and thoughts and theories and whatnot, so please don't take what I'm about to say the wrong way, and please don't go hating on me or my system just because my opinions are different than yours.

Again, just theories and thoughts and shit. You don't have to agree. It's okay for opinions to be different, and I'm not attacking anyone.

Okay, so here's the spiel:

I've been looking at anti-endo and pro-endo stuff, and I'm getting really tired of it.

There's so much hate around the topic, it's kind of laughable (laughable as in it threw me off guard to see so much hate. Not laughing at the people, just at my own surprise to how much hate there was.)

There's so little we understand about the brain, right? So it got me thinking, why can't endos be real?

And at the same time, what makes them DID??

I think that it should be seen as separate disorders. Or at least should be classified that way.

Cuz I mean in my mind that fixes the problem, right? Endos can't misinform if they're talking about a different disorder, right? And anti-endos can't get upset or mad because it's a different disorder that works differently.

I believe that DID is a trauma based disorder. Kids develop it because of childhood trauma.

But who's to say that someone can't develop a system without the trauma?

It wouldn't be the same disorder, because there isn't trauma.

But maybe it's like extreme stress or something, so the brain kinda just poops out like "i'm done, here, have some headmates," you know?

The brain's kinda really cool with how it handles things.

Yeah, there are probably a lot of endos out there who are probably faking. But there are also traumagenic systems that are doing the same thing.

Both spread misinformation and hurt the community.

Again, I think of endos as a separate disorder from DID. That's just my own opinion that makes the most sense to me.

But that doesn't mean endos should be treated any less than another system, right?

Heck, my system isn't DID either! Sure, we're traumagenic, but we don't meet all the criteria, specifically when it comes to amnesia.

But that doesn't make us any less a system than anyone else.

I'm just saying that maybe we should be a little more open minded and kind.

This is a long, highly controversial spiel, and it's totally fine if you don't agree with me. I'm just throwing the thought out there because I felt like it.

Again, this is just an OPINION AND A THEORY! I'm not saying this is actually what's going on! Don't freak out guys!

Our system is split into different groups, like family units, and we see it as family units too

I like my family a lot, even though we're not a normal family

My best friend is a werewolf/dog/wolf/person

My older sister has a russian accent

My older sister's best friend is a talking skeleton

My dads are giant space alien robots

My older brother is a dnd nerd with an emotional attachment to a wooden bat with nails

My other sister has telekinesis and psychic powers

Most of them are introjects

I don't call my dads "dad," but I use their actual names instead

My dads aren't married or anything, their relationship is purely platonic, but that doesn't make them any less my dads than for any other kid with parents who are married

We live on a big farm and our house looks like a house and a barn had a baby that was merged with a hanger bay

Some of my family have super cool magic abilities internally (and it's kinda funny because sometimes they forget that they can't use them when they're at the front)

So yeah, my family's weird and unusual and some people might not understand us

but I love them and they love me and I'm happy, so that's okay.

Yes, alters are different parts.

But alters are also PEOPLE.

They are SEPARATE from one another.

We may share the same body, coexist in the same life, but we are not the same.

I am not my alters, and my alters are not me.

Suggesting otherwise is the same as saying that a singlet isn't a person either.

I'm figuring that this isn't what you meant, and if it wasn't, I'm sorry for the mix up 😅

But please please please be so careful when you say things like this.

It can be really harmful for emotional/mental health and personal healing journeys when some systems/alters hear this, because more times than not, they will take it as someone saying that they aren't valid or real, that they don't deserve a life, or don't deserve to have a choice.

I'm sure that you're a really nice guy! And looking at your page, it's amazing to see someone wanting to spread information about dissociative disorders!

Systober

Have you ever heard about the famous inktober thing that happens all years? Well I like the idea but not the list, so while I was thinking I decided I'll do my own inktober with a special theme, system!

This is done just for fun, a creative and random activity for all the systems out there that want to join, if you think this is dumb, cringe or something like that well just scroll and don't do it lmao

Although inktober is for artists you don't have to draw to participate, if you want to make collages or write about it go ahead and do it, tho it's true that the challenge is more aligned to drawing

Beach Day.

It's so much fun going to the beach. Especially when one of your nonhuman alters comes out and starts digging the biggest hole he can make.

...

It's gonna take a while for us to get the sand out of our nails.

In all seriousness though, we love our in-resident doggo. He has such a cool way of seeing the world, and is a lot of fun once you get to know him.

He's fine with being mentioned and all that, but he gets a little camera shy. Maybe one day he'll feel comfortable with sharing more about himself with the world, who knows.
