An infant son and I were buried alive in the rubble of the Turkey earthquake.
Nearly a week has passed since a devastating earthquake hit Turkey and Syria, taking the lives of tens of thousands of people. Nonetheless, "miracle" tales have surfaced amidst the gloom. Like this one here. On January 27th, Necla Camuz welcomed her second son into the world, and she gave birth to him, naming him Yagiz. Ten days later, at 04:17 local time, Necla was up in their Hatay province, southern Turkey, home feeding her infant son. Soon after, they were suffocated by heaps of debris. Necla and her family made their home on the second level of a brand new, five-story building in the heart of Samandag. She felt very secure in the "nice building" she describes. That morning, she had no idea that an earthquake would tear the area apart, destroying or severely damaging buildings in every direction. After the quake began, she wanted to go to her husband, who was in another room, and he wanted to go to her. However, as he and our other son attempted to approach me, the wardrobe collapsed on top of them, rendering them immobile.
