hi everyone!! just a quick update - a new, revamped version of abyss will drop tonight very late or tomorrow - because of the time differences and a small family emergency i’m not sure if i’ll manage to post the new version of the game on time (i don’t have my laptop with me rn)!! however, some new content and a new chapter is coming later this month as well😌

happy to be back!!! it’s been a ride but im finishing my studies next year and my big girl job is paying me enough that i don’t have to worry about money that much so i can finally get back to things i enjoy

besides, meet franek!! me and my partner got him in october and he’s the light of my life rn

small spoiler: franek and my previous doggie will be the inspiration for your pet later in the game 😫🥹

im hoping to finish coding the whole chapter at the beginning of august as i’ll be in vacation next week but i want you to be able to play the whole thing, with some things changed and new content! and finally meeting jinho 💆🏻‍♀️

I saw the update and firstly I want to say that you take all the time you need and focus on yourself first and foremost. Life and need comes first, and we will be here whenever you return.

Second of all my condolences, saying goodbye isn’t easy, especially with life moving on around you. And depressive episodes amidst busy times is never easy either, this may be overstepping but I want to say I am proud of you. Working and studying and moving is a lot all on it’s own, doing any of them while depressed and grieving especially.

Third of all I hope times ahead bring you moments of joy, no matter how small they are.

thank you for that sweet message!! 🥹 i’m healing from my loss, however it’s been really hard - my dog was my baby and it still feels so empty without him. but i’m getting better and sometimes i see the signs he’s still with me!! me and my bf also are set on adopting a new dog in the near future and i hope this helps too.

right now i’m focusing on my health and the free time i have left before the academic year starts again and my time off ends so i hope to work on some things during that break while laying on a beach in italy.

i’ll be trying to slowly starts answering the questions i got and maybe coming back but i can’t promise anything. i love abyss and i definitely want to come back to posting again, however my mental health has to come first.

i haven’t been active or updated anything about abyss in a long time and the reason is that there is, unfortunately, not much to update about!

i work full time while being a full time student as well, doing masters in child psychology, moving places, saying goodbye to my beloved doggie which brought my depressive episode back, and on top of that my laptop has stopped working - and i simply do not have money to buy a new one.

abyss will be back, however, i can’t promise when. i’m counting on buying a laptop in the next month so maybe i will be able to push out a new chapter in the next two months - but i’m not promising anything

and i’m very grateful to everyone who still follows abyss! the one thing i can promise is that when i’m back, it will be worth it! 💖

Not an ask per say but I just wanted to thank you so much for the abyss. Just read it rn and I am SO immersed. I can't wait for more. Actually one of the more interesting IFs I've checked out as of late. You probably won't see this but the only things I can ask of you I guess are to take care of yourself, take all the time you need and don't give up on this please. I'll be patiently awaiting future updates 😌

it’s been quite a journey for me writing this, but i truly hope everyone enjoys. the new content comes to about 57.5k words extra with a huge chunk of it being branches and variations, so if you’re interested in getting to know more than one ro, i highly recommend doing multiple playthroughs.

That's what Russia wants. Putin is hoping that the attention will leave and he can commit his atrocities quietly.

We can't allow ourselves to grow tired of what's happening in Ukraine. We must not allow it to become normality. Ukrainians don't have the pleasure of tuning out social media or shutting off their TV.

We owe it to Ukrainians to keep protesting and to keep talking about it. We need to show Putin that the entire world is watching.

Hiya Meg! Question- Vanya and Basil (the Best Dads) clearly treat MC and Brother as their "kids", but how do they view June? Is June also their "kid" or more like Brother's bff? Also, did MC and Brother live with Vanya, Basil or both? Did June live with them? (Love you, your characters, your story, and your writing, and sending you all the love in the world).

mc and their brother have lived with vanya since they were little kids. they would spend some nights at basil’s place though. with june it’s a bit different because they met when june was a teenager. they lived with mostly basil as vanya’s place was already crowded and then got an apartment near the laundromat. they all care about june and think of them as family but it’s just a different dynamic.

Sorry if this is a dumb question, but are Vanya and Basil an actual couple? And if they are not a couple.... can MC encourage their relationship and help them become a couple? Bc I love the dads and want them to find love/joy. <3 (also the snippet with them was everything I ever wanted and MORE!)

they’re not a couple! for now they’re comfortable as best friends, but it may change in the future. you will have the option to encourage them to be together but that won’t be the only thing deciding that - it will also depend on some events and things you say!

it’s all vanya’s been doing since getting that message from his kid.

don’t annoy vanya. i’ll see you at the meadow.

and then — silence. nothing.

he’s been waiting for something, a sign he’s still alive, another message. anything.

vanya’s never been the first one to give up, he would always try staying positive no matter what. some people called him naive, some people called him dumb, but that would never matter.

but now, sitting alone in his office at the laundromat, in the middle of the night, with both of his kids god knows where…he couldn’t pretend anymore.

vanya’s never been the one to cry easily. but this time — he could not pretend not to feel tears stinging his eyes, wet trails on his cheeks.

he could’ve done something. stop them. give the job to someone else, maybe send more people. but now all that was left is him, sitting there in the dark, listen to the tape. rewind, rewind, rewind.

the doors opened but vanya didn’t even look up. he didn’t have to, quinn wouldn’t let anyone else pass him.

the screeching of the chair against floor. light tapping of fingers on the wooden desk. a few seconds of silence.

“have you eaten dinner?” no answer.

the rustling of a plastic bag — and then the smell of food. fried chicken from that one place around the corner.

“you should eat something.” vanya knew basil wouldn’t give up so he pulled the take out closer.

the silence between the two of them was comfortable. that kind of silence, when after years you just sit there together, not having to fill up the space with useless words.

“about that new delivery—“

“they’re not coming back.” vanya could feel it in his guts. it was the last time he saw his kids, and he didn’t even get to say goodbye.

basil tensed all his muscles, looking at the man in front of him. in all those years of their friendship he saw vanya like this maybe once or twice, and that broke his heart. he wasn’t sure if he could fix it but he knew he had to try.

“shut up.”

“they’re not coming back and—“

“shut the fuck up,” he interrupted vanya. “they know what they’re doing and they will be back. both of them. sitting here and crying won’t help anything and anyone.” basil unpacked the plastic cutlery and almost threw it at vanya. “now eat. you won’t be fucking starving.”

and he did. piece by piece, they ate in silence waiting for the sun to rise. hearing quinn’s light snoring and music from the radio through the doors.

there was nothing left but hope and tears. but maybe, maybe that’s all they needed.

“they’re coming back.” basil’s voice was quiet, almost a whisper. but vanya heard it.

start. listen. pause. that was the last time. he’d make sure his kids would come back.
