i’m going to be taking a little hiatus !   nothing bad, but i will most likely be moving blogs. lately, i’ve been wanting to improve on my art more, and i do want to have a blog that is more 50/50 on the art and writing front with more focus on plot - based threads or threads that expand easily. right now, despite knowing i don’t have an obligation to be on tumblr in my spare time, i constantly feel as if i have to be doing more in order to have fun. i also want to be able to communicate with my mutuals more. i think a slower dashboard would make me feel happier.

hate that i initially wanted to design abyssal omen kaeya’s khemia summoning circle because i wanted to draw thirst pictures and accidentally ended up learning how to theoretically manipulate space time and human transmutation through alchemy.

i see talk of old rpcs on the dash — i was in the kh comm for a few years writing as roxas and naminé, then i tried riku around iii, and then rw/by for the last six or so years writing mainly ren, but also blake, fox, and jaune. i’ve dabbled in the disney and anime rpcs ( sos sonic from opm, inori from guilty crown ), but none of the muses lasted for very long.

my kaeya's role as an abyssal omen was initially an excuse to incorporate reincarnation into his story, which is a form of conditional immortality. peacocks have also been noted by alchemists to be an earthly form of resurrection, similar to the phoenix. kaeya's spirit stays in the leylines until an abyssal catastrophe is to be unleashed, in which he can either prevent or herald the oncoming disaster.
khaenri'ahs link to bough keepers, means that they most likely made an art, a profession even of reading the leylines, and maybe even manipulating them. which lead to the idea that maybe, through the art of khemia, the abyssal omen spirit could be summoned and weaponised in order to lead khaenri'ah out of ruin while preparations were being made. this would be why kaeya's father referred to him as " their last hope. "
but, i guess the original point of this post was initially the idea that because khaenri'ah pushed the boundaries on morality when it came to scientific experimentation, that combined with alchemy which breaches dangerous territory on magic and philosophy, that maybe the queen acted as the conduit for the abyssal omen's birth. the desperation in which khaenri'ah is forced to go through at the hands of celestia.
this was mostly just to add more tinder to the "kaeya's father sucks" pile, but kaeya being born as the result of the king's khemia ritual just sounds fitting.

alright, so it’s been heavily implied by lore multiple times that khaenri’ah is in the abyss or at the very least intimately tied to it ( bloodstained chivalry set, the pale princess ) and that kaeya was born in khaenri’ah. the thing is, abyssal creatures such as abyss mages, samachurls, and now, abyss heralds don’t need the blessings of celestia to wield the elements. it made me think that, for a khaenri’ahn ( confirmed to be a very prosperous and advanced civilisation ) born in the abyss, someone who isn’t entirely human — i think technically that kaeya should have the ability to wield his element without his vision. and so, because idc what canon thinks, i’m making that true.
much like magic is focused through a wand, the ability to wield an element is focused through a vision. when kaeya was found near a secluded nook along the path of the dawn winery, drenched from the storm around them, he was covered in ice particles. not only that, but the worker that he’d assaulted out of sheer panic at being approached by a stranger, had been stabbed by an icicle. although, kaeya barely remembers that night, had intentionally blocked it out of his mind actually. kaeya is unaware that he’s used cryo prior to his vision, but, not detailing them yet as i want to sit on this idea more, he has been in dangerous situations where he has unintentionally coaxed forth a cryo shield ( you might be familiar with this, it’s the same one you have to break down to get to the squishy abyss mage inside ) otherwise known as “ frozen kiss “ which is kaeya’s fourth constellation. kaeya has applied cryo to his enemies before, numbing them, slowing down their stamina, making their blood freeze, just by touching them before, also without noticing. he’s also left ice particles behind from things he’s touched before, often when he is trying very hard to keep his composure. kaeya’s resistance to the cold, also, has been a natural part of him since birth, although he attributed that to living in khaenri’ah for his early childhood, a sunless land.
kaeya has had multiple instances of using his cryo abilities accidentally throughout his upbringing, but chalked any weird happenstance up to coincidence because of his conditioning during his assimilation into mond / teyvat culture that everything coming from the abyss is bad and evil. and so, when these abilities started to manifest, a part of him wanted to remain ignorant ( after all, according to mond’s psuedo christian religious aspects, if we put this in the allegory of the apple, then to be ignorant is to be blissful, and to understand the truth of the world, that makes you a sinner, yes ? kaeya has said that khaenri’ah is full of sinners due the to the nation’s thirst for power and knowledge, y’know, in addition to his own self hatred coaxed by being raised in a foreign land that damns his own. ) a part of kaeya didn’t want to believe that he could wield cryo until he’d been “ gifted “ his vision, and even then it angered him, especially the way he received it.
kaeya views his vision as a means for the gods, for the tsaritsa, for celestia to control him. but, it’s a lot more complicated than that. when he stopped trying to destroy his own vision, out of rage first ( rage that the vision had appeared, symbolically aligned him with the fatui that had indirectly killed his father ) and then out of curiosity, he decided to use the ability as a means to an end, to reach his own goals faster. yes, he uses the vision and the privilege afforded a vision user in the world of teyvat, but he leaves it behind when he goes to domains on his own. why ? because it’s an insult to the khaenri’ahns and abyssal creatures down there … he can still wield cryo without it, but he still mentally attributes this to having a vision, no matter how far away it is. that’s not the truth.
kaeya is abyssal, he was born in the abyss, even if he’s still human. and he’s still coming to terms with it.
tldr ; there’s a reason that kaeya’s vision is visibly different from other mondstadt users, he doesn’t need it to use cryo. abyssal creatures don’t need permission from celestia to use their powers.

i also just wanted to clarify that kaeya’s bias against archons doesn’t mean i don’t love them ??? zhongli and venti have some of the most compelling stories and i love them dearly. i don’t truly hate any characters except kaeya’s sperm donor and royce.
edit: and albert.

i was talking to @melodicbreeze and the /only/ reason that one of kaeya’s thematics is being torn about where his loyalties lie is because he was planted in mond, the city of freedom. if he was planted in any other nation, especially sneznhaya / sumeru / inazuma, then he would still 100% be for khaenri’ah’s agenda and would be ten times as ruthless as he is now.

while i personally recognise that there is definitely a grey morality when it comes to why khaenri’ah was decided to be fit for destruction, kaeya on the other hand is still sending threats to mond’s archon.

‘   divinity that recognises themselves as such never hold themselves accountable.   if they see themselves above humans, then why would they subject themselves to human morality   ?   the ends will always justify the means,   i suppose.   ’

this headcanon is from a month ago, but i wanted to write down before i head out my thoughts on the archons vs. khaenri’ah thing ?
this is always going to be a celestia slander account, and khaenri’ah for sure did not deserve to be destroyed, but i don’t entirely think that archons reacting to them was entirely unwarranted, purely because it seemed like a threat, or done so out of a petty thing like jealousy. this blog follows the idea that the advancement of khaenri’ah was reaching dangerous levels, moving into territory for dangerous human experimentation, and because of the cult mindset that justified it was for science, experiments that could be considered abominations were becoming a societal norm and it was all justified. this would also be bolstered by the way that the abyss seeks out and preys on individuals with great determination and ambition. this was a society that relied upon it’s alchemist, and, taking inspiration from not only fullmetal, but studies on chrysopoeia, the subject of alchemy often delves not only into science but concepts of religion and spirituality, and often morality that becomes a very grey area of thinking. what i’m saying is that though khaenri’ah didn’t deserve what happened to it, and that if there is archon involvement, i still don’t think that khaenri’ah was entirely innocent here, otherwise wouldn’t dainsleif be on the abyss order’s side ?
