My observations from the Good Omens fandom:

Fanart and fics that are from the time before the TV series (1990 - 2019): Az & Co love each other deeply and there are no labels. Their love is very chaste and they usually kiss only. Ace vibes.

Fanart and fics after GO S1 (2019 - 2023): Aziraphale is a babe, a softie, and Crowley is the strong protector. The only fanart where Crowley is the one holding Aziraphale in his arms is from this time period. Fics are often explicit, but it’s very balanced between top Crowley and Top Aziraphale. There is a lot of play with different genitalia, but the main focus is still the strong, intense, unbreakable bond between the two, which defies all human relationship labels.

Fanart and fics after GO S2 (Aug. 2023 - present): Crowley is the soft, whiny baby who needs protection. Most fanart depicts Aziraphale as the strong protector and Crowley as the fragile girlfriend behind him. Crowley is very often depicted with black nail polish & long hair, more feminine character traits, unless both characters are female. Most fics are explicit, and Aziraphale is dominating Crowley, Crowley is desperately looking for approval or being a total brat and making Aziraphale’s life a living hell after the final fifteen, pouting and being angry/resentful. The main focus in the fics in now the sex and sexual pleasure. Now there is also a lot more exploration of different AUs and incarnations e.g. Crowley is very often a snake, they are drawn as robots or mouse & rat, AUs for coffee shops, gardeners, priests etc.

I am not judging this trend in any way, but I personally prefer the depictions and interpretations during the S1 era, because they feel the most true to the source material of the TV show for me. I wonder if after S3 it will diverge even further or if it will circle back.

The problem I see with using AI for something like that is, AI simply isn't able to produce anything based on understanding.

Something that is critical for any creative process. And gen Ai in its current form and its current state of operation will never and CAN never bring that to the table. You will not get constructive feedback, you will only get feedback which amounts to the average probability that your specific combination of words might elicit. Which to be fair can read like something coherent, but it isn't.

Ai is not able to grasp the world you want to create, complex character relationships or even just the concept of object permanents, and therefore will not be able to actually help produce something coherent.

It seems like magic when AI spit something out that is readable and understandable. It's good at giving the impression of producing 'good' output. But in the end you will never get more than a statistical average.

AI has no life experience that can add to your vision, it has no personality that might produce understanding for a character that you otherwise would have overlooked and it certainly isn't able to grasp plot twist beyond the most common of common ones (which is not bad but it's not fitting for all stories).

How do you feel about the use of AI as a tool for writers? Not to make the writing for us, of course, but to ask for prompts or "chat" about plot points where you're stuck.

Friends are nice. If you can find some human ones. That's how Terry Pratchett and I became friends. He'd call me up when he wanted to chat about plot points when he got stuck.

May I present to you Bildad the shuhite in glorious 3 dimension (and on a proper turntable)

As promised and for those who want them, here are the files. Both my work file, the one with everything merged and the exported obj's.

OUTSIDE OF THE MERGING AND CHECKING FOR HOLES THOSE ARE NOT YET PRINT READY ! IT'S ALSO LIKE AROUND 8 MILLION POINTS PER MERGED MODEL SO THERE IS THAT.

If you want to print it you should check for pockets (maybe resize I think I messed up scale) and manage thickness. Plus obviously adding supports. If someone does so PLEASE show me and credit would be nice as well .

I will be doing it myself, and put up that version as well BUT I will do it at a later date and when I can do a whole batch. It will also eventually land on turbosquid or something but again I wanna do that when I have a whole collection to show and not just one Crowley.

What are your thoughts on azirapheles' hand merging with lopsided books? (Sorry if it's actually yours. I'm just so confused right now!)

Last little update before I am done with him.

Next step is putting in some more detail aka some texture for the clothes aka simulating the different colors with different heights, refine some bits and put a base and nameplate.

These glasses are just so much fun not just because the shades part is actually just a magnetic clip on. Anyhow I had tremendous fun modeling them

Sadly, there's not enough room in the poll for the iconic Heaven disguise, but it's always worth sharing

Didn't have too much time today but I reworked the face a bit soooo here an other WIP

Sorry that's not the exact same cam also that the updated version is in perspective and not orthographic but I think you can see the difference quite well. I am definitely a lot happier with it now . Also new teeth. The previous ones were just a game ready jaw I have laying around since I hate doing teeth. And while his new ones aren't even remotely optimized for animation or much posing, they are now perfect for printing. No cavities pfff.

I hope I can get around to do the hair and clothing tomorrow. Shouldn't take me half as long since it's organic and just textures so I might actually finish this Bust this week.

Also just because, some extras with the glasses. And yes they might get some extra thickness when I prepare it for print. But for the moment they are halfway to scale versions.

EDIT: had to switch right and left bc my brain was still stuck in sculpting mode where left is the right and right is left ...aaahhhhhhhhh

Those are the ones I am currently the most exited to be working on next . But truth be told I won't be stopping before I don't have a whole army of Crowley and Aziraphale Busts and maybe of the other angels and demons a version. Kinda wanna do Furfur NGL. just because I can . Don't know what else to do with them other than print but ehhhh. When they are done I'm gonna make the model available for people to do whatever with them. They won't be having any good typology tho.
