Read a cool fic, was compelled to draw scene from it, though this is messy as hell (again) and I still can't get Bucky right, so here's a dude with a sniper rifle on a cliff XD This is pre-train, and Bucky is keeping a lookout with the Howling Commandos further down the ridge. A German truck is passing below. I need more goddamn practice.

Summary:

“You do know you’re a nice big target in that getup, don’t you?” Bucky says by way of greeting without taking his eyes off the road.

“Well, someone asked if I was keeping the outfit, and I thought I would oblige.” After a moment’s hesitation, Steve lowers himself into the dirt alongside Bucky. “It’s a real hit with the kids.”

Bucky snorts. “Bet those USO girls liked it, too.”

There’s still enough light for Bucky to see the flush that rises in Steve’s cheeks. “Yeah, well,” he mutters, one hand coming up to rub the back of his neck, “they were just doing their job.”

“I didn’t hear them objecting - ”

“Are you done?” Steve grumbles. 

“Whatever happened to stalwart and steady?” Bucky continues, merciless. “I think there’s also something in there about being forceful and ready…”

“I never should’ve told you about that.” Steve’s voice is muffled by his hands. 

“Dum Dum sang it for three days straight.” Bucky glances at him, smirking. Steve lifts his head to fix him with a glare. “He only stopped because Gabe threatened to throttle him.”
