Meet Cherribi!!

So a while ago the sk8 puppets were announced for the first time and I was devastated by the fact I would probably never be able to get one but then I realised... I make plushies. That's literally my thing that I am good at!!

It took me a month because of exams and having to draft most patterns from scratch but here he is! Meet my adorable Cherry chibi plushie, lovingly dubbed Cherribi by myself at 5am one night.

Bonus: Fluffie wanted attention (or maybe Carla has a gigantic cat mode, who knows? Miya's influence should not be underestimated)

Hey you ever imagine Joe not realizing how he feels about Cherry bc he’s never fallen this hard for anyone before?

falling for cherry surprises joe because it doesn’t feel like falling. 

see, he’s fooled around, he’s been with plenty of women and a few men, so he thinks he’s understood how it’s all supposed to be. you’re hot, i’m hot, we’re into this, pursue, chase, conquest. he doesn’t think it’s love, necessarily, but surely this is what attraction is?

he doesn’t feel butterflies looking at cherry. well—not all the time. sometimes cherry shows off some new trick on carla, or he’ll show a bit more skin than usual, or he’ll look at joe with that test in his eyes—but no... it’s probably indigestion. the lurch in his stomach when cherry says his new recipe is “decently palatable” is just how anyone would react, right?

joe feels sparks and electricity when his groupies touch him. he’s been friends with cherry for over two decades and all he feels is just—just tacit understanding. cherry’s the only one who’s seen him at his best and worse, the only one who’s been with cherry through it all, the only one cherry allows to see him as the raw, vulnerable kaoru and in return, cherry’s the only one joe allows into his own guarded emotions and oh shit.

he realizes this one night at sia la luce. they’ve just come back from s and they’re both still riding the endorphin high. joe declined to go home with one of his girls because it’s wine night with kaoru and not even the promise of a stranger’s bed can take him away from that.

and cherry falls asleep at the bar, and joe wonders how fortunate he is to be the one cherry trusts like this, and how he’d do anything to keep cherry safe and happy, and he just knows cherry would do the same for him, and oh fuck. 

this isn’t indigestion.

this... this is what he doesn’t feel for any of his previous partners. this is strong, underlying; he feels it from deepest marrow of his bones and the softest breath of a sigh. once he notices he can’t un-notice how much this feeling is everywhere when cherry’s around, when cherry’s on his mind, when cherry’s not on his mind.

falling for cherry doesn’t feel like falling. it’s realization after realization, it’s hiding smiles and tempering compliments with empty insults. caresses disguised as roughhousing. confessions in the form of beefs.

it’s love, and it’s been here all this time, and joe wonders how the hell he didn’t realize it sooner.
