MID headcannos

Silly little things I think about in the shower along with my life choices:

-In public, a child came up and pulled Ava's hair (bc children these days are a-holes) and before any of the Daemos could react, Ava yeeted this kid off and would have drop kicked it if Rhys hadn't stopped her.

-Asch was asking stupid questions to be annoying, and Ava pulled the "ur mom" joke. After being frozen with a horried look on his face, Asch didn't bug her for the rest of the day.

-Ava was so desperate to sneak back to bed without the Daemos awaking her, she hid some of their weapons and let chaos ensue.

-Right before an outing, Leif decided it would be funny to hide Ava's phone, but it backfired and she didn't let anyone leave until they found it. (The Daemos didn't forgive him for that)

-Once, a tick was found in the apartment and Ava spent 2 hours checking the Daemos hair (it was Leif).

-whenever someone says something freaky or stupid, Ava takes a deep breath and gives the "I'm not mad, I'm just disappointed" look. (Lorelei always giggles when she does it) #someone make a mother Ava au plss

Anyways now that season 2 has been announced, it's time to go back to the asylum (they've been waiting for me)

Ava's Condition

I was re-watching the mid mini games, (as one does) and that part where Peirce mentions that Ava sleeps alot and that she should get it checked, Ava says she has, and that it's a condition she has. That got my theorist wheels turning, and made me wonder: what condition does she have?

Watching the show, I always assumed she had narcolepsy, but she doesn't show much of the symptoms you would expect.

Doing a quick Google search shows that Ava might have Arrhythmia, which basically means her heart sometimes beats too fast or slow, which causes fatigue and sometimes, fainting.

I just want to clarify that I am not a medical professional, just a gal with an obsessive hold over this show and the power of Google. Also if anyone has different guesses, I would love to hear them!

So heres the rhys x Asch headcanons hope its to your liking!

Asch x Rhys Hc!

Whenever they go somewhere together, Asch will always walk by/in front of Rhys at least an arms length distance. This started when they were kids and the habit stayed until adulthood. To the point that its instinctual for Asch to be Rhys's guide or to just be by him whenever they're going somewhere (because I headcanon that that his vision worsened to 20/600 in the current day not only that he is nearsighted so he's basically blind atp)

Asch is one of the few people who didn't care about Rhys's condition or to the other daemos words "disability" when it started to form when were younger (I headcanon that Rhys started getting blurry vision around 6) always reinforcing words to Rhys that they are equals and that it doesn't make a difference. This always cheers up Rhys and made him more confident.

Asch somewhat understands Rhys's condition (in which he has nearsightedness) so whenever Rhys speaks to him Asch makes the effort to walk closer or be within proximity to Rhys. So that Rhys can see his facial expressions more clearly and for him to know that he cares and is listening.

Rhys and Asch always sits together or near each other its an unspoken rule among the other knights like they are not gonna question it

Rhys the most fully honest with Asch. He will share nearly anything with his Highness. These conversations always happen between close doors and only between the two of them. (Though sadly this can also flip to him being the biggest liar for Asch's sake)

Rhys knows Asch's favourite snack which is popcorn. So he always goes out of his way to buy popcorn for Asch even if its not needed. This irritates Ava because ahe is making an extra expense for popcorn all the time.

Rhys also knows Asch's favourite foods and always cooks them for him whenever he feels mad or down (which is nearly all the time lmao) the other daemos boys notice this favoritism but they can steal food from Asch so its all good.

Contrary to the other knights belief, Asch is actually the one who taught Rhys to dance not the other way around. Even though he doesn't look like it Asch cares how people view him as a royal. He also likes ballroom dancing he just hates the parties themselves.

When they were kids Rhys was the person Asch always went to when he had a bad day or needed to cry. Sadly he put up his walls at some point and never opened his heart out again to anyone not even Rhys.

Obviously Asch warm hands and Rhys cold hands hehe

Asch is very touch starved and Rhys knows this which is why he has a lot of subtle touches and he does it whenever he can (i.e. Tucking in hair, brushing of fingers, fixing his outfit before events, or touching his shoulder)

Asch always sneaks in books from the royal library to Rhys ok with risking punishment knowing Rhys loves more knowledge. (This is also why Rhys knows so much lmao)

Whenever Asch gets tired from training with Pierce or he can feel that Asch wants to get away, he always makes an excuse for him like royal duties or he's needed.

I was thinking about Ava and her personality, and I thought about how the Daemos are basically broken down parts of her, lemme explain.

Disclaimer: I really don't think it is what Jess intended, but I think of it as a personal headcanon.

Asch:

I think both Asch and Ava have almost a 'reputation' to uphold; We see both of them lying to everyone else to gain authority and loyalty. While we don't see it directly, we can assume Asch hasn't told any of the other Daemos about the 'sacrifice' his father is going to make him do if this mission doesn't go as planned. With Ava, it's more a means to protect herself, but she lies to the Daemos about having magic and being powerful to gain respect, which is why I think Asch represents Ava's authority.

Leif:

While I love Leif and Ava, they are both kinda jerks, you can see the connection between the Daemos putting down Leif for being an assassin the same way Ava is put down by her classmates for being distant and "acting like she's better than everyone else" I think Leif represents Ava's pride, as they both have very short tempers when people insult them.

Noi:

Throughout the series, we see Ava showing kindness to Noi, recognizing and calling out how the Daemos put him as the butt of their jokes and mistreat him (my poor baby :( . We know that Lorelei’s friends treat Ava almost the same, putting her down and seeing her as 'lesser'. I think Noi represents Ava's vulnerability, wanting to be a good person, (i.e. defending her Dads), but are ultimately overlooked by others. I also thinks this is why Ava always helps Noi, knowing the position all too well.

Rhys:

I think their situations overlap more than their personalities, they are both trying to range the other Daemos from setting everything to hell, and are just the general parents of the group. We both see them get fed and tired of everyone else :) So I think Rhys is Ava's sense of responsibility.

Pierce:

I think Pierce could very well represent Ava's kindness. They both don't hesitate to help, (Ava giving Asch CPR), (Piecre putting Ava to sleep) but they are scared to show it. Peirce has trauma about showing kindness to others, thinking it will destroy them, and Ava has a general hard time admitting that she considers the Daemos as her friends. Also just their sense of calmness.
