The change wasn't in response to people listening to Martin Luther King. The change was in response to the riots that happened after he was murdered.

If you're able to command that protesters be peaceful, then you're able to command that the ruling class be peaceful. And if the ruling class were peaceful, the protests wouldn't exist.

Really?? So people complained so much about Toby Fox's cute little throwback to the fact that Papyrus' design was directly inspired by Dedan that MG is going to probably ask him to remake Dedan's theme? You people are fucking assholes. Toby Fox isn't replacing OFF with Undertale. Also, I know this is a demo and that there probably would've been changes to everything soundtrack wise anyways, but I'm going to take this as an opportunity to complain myself about people making a big fuss about how Toby Fox made Dedan's theme. Because frankly, I think it's stupid to piss and cry about it as loudly as a lot of people did. You don't have to agree with me, we can have different opinions, but it's stupid to see how people went about expressing them in my opinion. If people on twitter have the right to make this controversial, I have the right to also complain on here as an OFF fan of over a decade.

Not only is this specific controversy [because of course it had to be] something we all loved about Undertale, that being the enjoyment most of us got out of Undertale's soundtrack for being able to recognize different places/character's themes within other songs in the game, but that this was stated mutliple times not to be an exact recreation of OFF and that it was going to have a few new things incorperated into it and would have other parts of the game re-written that would be different from the original game. The songs are most likely going to reflect that while still attempting to give us the same general vibes as the original game.

Which directly leads me to asking, what's something a lot of artists do? To my knowledge, we as artists like to take a piece of art and make more art out of it, and do things similar to that. It can breathe new passion and life into an art piece that already has a lot of symbolic and artistic value. It can be fun, it can inspire you to be more creative, etc. I can go on and on and on. As I'm sure a lot of people can.

You all are bashing on Toby Fox for making art out of Mortis' art, something I can only imagine Mortis is happy with being a fucking artist with a massive passion for creating and recreating– as seen by the fact that Mortis Ghost is recreating certain parts of his game here and breathing new life into it. It's also been clear for so goddamned long that Toby Fox was/is in some regards [that are even still present in Deltarune] inspired by OFF too and it's obvious that he wanted to honor that in his own way by referencing the character that was inspired by Dedan.

Isn't that cool?? That a character who came before another very popular character in media such as Papyrus now had a direct link to him? I could easily see that being symbolic to how Dedan once used/seemed to be a polite and nicer or gentler person at the start of his role as a Guardian in the beginning of the new world Hugo wanted to build, much like how Papyrus is a very polite and nice person who I'd go as far as to say has grand visions of impacting and protecting people in a positive way, something a zone Guardian is responsible for amongst lots of other things [that Dedan clearly failed at] as well, and that there is only maybe a shadow of that left seeing that he's a rotten person when we meet him at the beginning of the game and are sent to purify him. What the fuck guys.

As somebody who was heavy into both fandoms back in the day, a decade ago when those fandoms would intermingle to the point that having multiple crossovers together wasn't uncommon, I'm disappointed that this was recieved so negatively. Come the fuck on.

I don't know how Toby feels but I'd be fucking heartbroken if I did something cool with one of the people who I'd consider an idol and who's game inspired aspects of my passion project/creation/game, only for people to complain and shit all over my creations made for a project my idol is allowing me to work on that were given the greenlight by said idol to implement. As I touched upon before, the new soundtrack could represent the new themes or symbolism around the characters and places/the new and/or re-written content in this new version of OFF, that fit better with the things being written differently from the original project Mortis Ghost released in 2008. I get not liking change sometimes but as Mortis Ghost stated, the OG isn't fucking going anywhere.

Especially since the original OST cannot be used, I thought it was so cute to see Toby add a little motif of Papyrus' theme to Dedan's theme. It was subtle enough too that while I recognized it, it wasn't overpowering. If you didn't like it that's fine, we don't have to agree at all and I respect that entirely, but you don't need to give Toby Fox shit about it either. Anyone who did should be ashamed of themselves. To my knowledge, from what I have personally seen, he's the only artist on board here that is getting backlash at all for his contributions. It's pitiful, and I mean I pity the people who have been so childish for making such a massive deal out of this and having a pissfest about it [NOT the people who simply didn't like it and expressed that, there is a difference].

People have possibly ruined something really cool and I'm mad about it.
