decided to post this late v-day scribble of some quirrelghost !

“Must you leave so soon?” Quirrel says.

‘I won’t be gone for long.’ Ghost signed to him. He uses one hand to envelope the pill bug’s hand within his, and his mask gently rests against Quirrel’s in a gesture of affection.

‘You will see me again.’ He signed with his free hand.

Quirrel exhaled softly at that, drawing his cloak closer to himself with the hand not occupied in Ghost’s grasp. “Be safe. Please.”

‘For you, I will. You have my promise.’ Ghost assured him, slowly yet firmly signing each word with certainty. ‘I’ll always return to you.’

Headcanon time (feat. Lurien and Hegemol)

Hegemol is one of the mighty five knights, guardian of the city of tears, a strong and stable figure in the citiziens'eyes.

But he knows he's not immortal and one day the city will need a new guardian that will watch over it.

So he thinks...why not his own child?

Little problem thought: Hegemol doesn't have a partner, he can't just create a baby out of nowhere...can he?

This is an HC of mine, but I believe baby bugs can be made in two different ways: either by doing the "old style tango" or by using soul.

Using soul can be useful with couples who can't/don't want to concieve a baby in the traditional way. Usually, the parents mix together part of their souls and create an egg; but even single bugs can do so if they focus enough their soul (still the baby might be weak and frail, because they have less soul than others; still, this can be helped during the egg phase by using the soul hotsprings' water, but then the egg might absorb a different kind of bug's soul and the baby would result as a different species from the parent(s)).

[This method might not always work if one or both of the bugs can't focus their souls enough into an egg]

Examples:

So Hegemol decides to use part of his soul to create the next guardian (it's totally not just an excuse to have a child noo-)

Still,when he creates the egg it looks...small. But really small.

He wasn't that small as an egg for sure...

Better use some of that good old soul water... so maybe the baby will be bigger?

Maybe not. (Welcome to Hallownest Lurien)

Hegemol is so scared to hold baby Lurien that Isma has to literally put them in his hands...

And Hegemol melts.

His little child might not be as big or strong as he is,but if their smile can make Hegemol fall apart then they're pretty much invincible.

Anyway,molts (years) pass by and Hegemol realizes that:

a. Lurien is a frail bug

b. The soul water granted them a great power

He found out one night before putting them to bed...

Now, many bugs know what a Wyrm is. Many knows that the King is somehow related to those deities.

But not many knows how a Wyrm looks like, especially a three molts old bug.

So he brings them to the Pale King and surprise: Lurien can see auras and will also develop clairvoyance one day (at least the King says so).

Now, Lurien's gift is very rare for a common bug. They need to be protected (not because said bug is also your child Hegemol totally not because of that-).

At last,the watcher's knights roll in!

Hegemol trained them himself so they would protect his son the next guardian of the city.

Six of them should be enough.

Yeah, they should.

(That was pretty much a ramble of mine nothing too serious)
