(My humanoid Ajaw design is something I still need to properly design, but the pixel art isn’t just a stylistic choice, he stays pixelated no matter what form he is in. That is the fundamental foundation of his design)

I pulled Tribbie first and then did some stuff, got another ten pull, and wanted to go after Sunday. I got distracted by my brother and both of their splash arts looks similar, I’m still shocked I got him at zero pity lmao

thinking about ixquieh being indifferent at first but then learning to care more about the world. her proclaimation of "protecting the weak" at first is a duty regardless of personal feelings and then it becomes her true wish

and thinking about ahpub worsening arc. at first he he doesn't like dragons but he's more. contained. and he constantly says he will protect ixquieh because shes his only family and the person he cares the most about in the world and will never let any harm come to her. and then he's consumed by hatred to the point of killing his own sister (the thing he hated dragons for ; killing his family)...

and thinking about yupanqui confidence break arc. like yeah beating passersby is one thing but beating the abyss, grand bandits and dragons is another. he's strong but you need some battle smarts at some point and he does not have. thinking about him wondering if he really has a place among them when he realizes hes lowkey a burden at times and it's basically just bc he's an idiot.

and thinking about maghan. slowly learning to care about them because at first he only cares about the starcaller. but if he had the choice he'd go back to his village and her side. but he doesn't have a choice. he never did. he's the enacter of the starcaller's will and not a person. and he will do what she ordered because she ordered it. his opinions and his feelings? they don't matter. he's content with doing it if it's for her. and he doesn't want to kill her but that's what she said so he does it anyway...

and thinking about hineila not caring about any of these idiots theyre just a means to an end. her thinking uenuku is some naive idiot that she can use. but then growing to care about him and to care about what he cares about. he is her naive precious companion and be careful if you look at him in a way she doesn't like. and she will die protecting him and what he cares about and she is perfectly okay with it and she would do it all over again but maybe next time she'd spare him the sight so he won't have to witness her death directly

and thinking about uenuku not fully trusting her to the end. he can usually read people but he knows at the beginning shes trying to use him so he thinks she still has the same intentions and has just gotten better at acting. and thinking about him blaming himself for her death. and that if he was stronger, if he was better, maybe if he had trusted her... and thinking about him isolating himself because he's scared to cause another death. a sad ending for someone who preached "unity" so much

Design notes:

I put a lot of detail into this so imma list it all down as well as the choices I made. I want to note that this is if she was added right here, right now, into the game as playable.

— She no longer has a heart thus the secret source automaton armor covering her the area where her heart should have been. The phlogiston is keeping her alive. The automaton boots are also included because despite dragonlords being….well, dragonlords, they were also the best warriors from the Natlanese dragons, thus, the armor.

—Imma give you guys a challenge, try to find as many hour glasses as possible, go. As a Chronicler of the End Times, using hour glass shapes throughout her design was the only way I could convey that. (Character design is a whole science that I love and hate)

—If you zoom into on her chest, you can see the symbol of the her heart as a golden pattern. A lot of the design is based on the heart that the travelers have in their inventory including the cape.

—Nobody has pointed this out even before this final design but her marking above her eyebrows is actually the Mayan Number for 9. Four dots and a line underneath. I sneaked this throughout this design too.

—“Ink, why is she electro but with fire? Shouldn’t he just be pyro?” Great question! I was originally going to make her pyro but thought against it for one reason, my friends did not want another pyro dps and honestly I don’t blame them. She is technically pyro in nature but as a dragon, she doesn’t need the vision. It’s more of a fake that way her purple fire doesn’t look weird (I don’t know bro, roll with me).

Also personal Note:

I have been a bit inactive due too a really stupid reason. I hurt not one but BOTH hands. NOT IN A HORRIBLE WAY!!! It’s so funny.

So basically, I really like mangos (stay with me) and in order to eat mangos, you need to peel them. That’s what I was doing and everything was going great, until the skin of the mango sliced under my nail on my right pointer finger. You think I learn by this point, and you’re right! It was not the skin of the mango that attacked my left pointer but the actual peeler itself! Mangos bro… whole danger zone. Anyway, I couldn’t draw or type without it hurting so sorry about that guys. More activity coming up soon <3

Hi! I apologize for this "method", but I saw your tags to the first part on the "Ixlel and the moon" post... I hadn't thought about a connection between the Iridescent Moon and the Iridescent Inscriptions but, not gonna lie, the moon as a teacher (in a way) to the dragons is a point of my theory and fanfic-idea. Also, please, keep rambling in the tags, reading what other people have to say about my theories give me more fuel for said theories, so, Thank you! (I also apologize for eventual mistakes with my english...)

I mean the dragons were close with the moon sisters iirc so that every well could have been the case. I, actually, would love for that to be true.

I genuinely hope we get more of what my queen, Ixlel, said to (ugh) och-kan. We already got the phlogiston research with 5.5 so perhaps we will get the moons stuff with Nod-Krai…. Wait what if that whole segment of what she was telling him just foreshadowing to future nations, even the end of our journey. I mean I wouldn’t be surprised as she is the Chronicler of the End Times.

Ixlel and the Moon, a connection? Part 1

A little "preface": I'm far from being an expert on Aztec and Maya culture; what I know is mostly from the internet, so I can't say if this analysis can be called useful. Don't even know if "analysis" is the right word for this post. Still, I hope you all can find this interesting.

Analysis' main points: ethymologies, references to Aztec and Maya cultures and religions, lore speculations. This analysis aims to answers a simple question: there is a connection between the moon fragments in the real sky and Ixlel's core? At first, the question was about the similarities of Ixlel's core and the moon fragments: of course, they're both spherical, but the fragments resemble a shell, or a chest (more specifically, a safe). But, that's strange, and seems a little forced. Or, maybe there's actually a reason why they share a similar design and, maybe, function. First, let's take a look to the ethymology of this key words: Chichen Uctokah and Ix Uxul Tz'ib Bolon. Chichen Uctokah: the in-game meaning is currently unknown. The wiki propose, as possible translation, "Well of the Seven Fires". It's, most likely, inspired by the world heritage site of Chichen Itza (in Yucatec Maya, it means "At the edge/mouth of the well of the Itza"). Ix Uxul Tz'ib Bolon: the in-game translation is "Chronicler of the End Times". More specifically, Uxul and Tz'ib means "at the end" and "to write/to paint". A little note about Chichen Uctokah: from what I understood, Chichen Itzca refers to the place where the Izta cames from. So, we can say that Chichen Uctokah is the place of origin of the "Seven Flames". This can means two things: the place of origin of Natlan's tribes. But the actual tribes are six. There's maybe a seventh tribe, one we don't have no information about. It can also refer to the possible and future tribe cited in the Archon Quest, regarding the Traveler's Ancient Name. Or, it may be a reference to Chicomoztoc, place of origin of the Aztec and other Nahua peoples. Chicomoztoc means "the seven caves": by the Nahua people's tradition and culture, those caves where their ancestors were born. Honestly, I don't know if Hoyo took Chicomoztoc has inspiration for Chichen Uctokah. The Seven Fires can refering to the seven elements (since they came from Phlogiston), or is connected to something else we still don't know. Two last points for this part: Besides the number seven, we saw in Natlan the presence of the number thirteen. Hence, there is, probably, a connection with the Thirteen Heavens, the places where, by the Nahua people, the gods lived. Tonatiuh: in-game, is a spaceship build by the dragons. In Aztec myths, is a sun god You may ask: Arianna, what this have to do with Ixlel and the Moon? In the next part, I will delve into the speculation and sorta theory. Prepare for many Pindaric flights. (I apologize if, while reading, you found grammar mistakes)
