Paige's Mom has a name now!! She is Anoura, named after a species of bat :) and a little bit after the Anura area in CoTL bc I do love that game <3

I originally wanted it to be a more thematic name, but I like this, too! Her Knight name is Sickle Knight, though I may change that later. :)

i made a transformers oc a while back, and i meant to post about them but never got around to it!

they're based off of the Starship robots that bring college students food. so, in order to translate that into Cybertronian culture/life, i've come up with this:

*disclaimer: not all of the details are ironed out, and there are probably plotholes and inconsistencies! feel free to put in your own two cents :)

lots of writing + worldbuilding below!

pre-war

The term Starship(s) (soon to be renamed) refers to a very specific series of cold-constructed cybertronians. In pre-war settings, they were used to quickly transport small, personal amounts of energon, energon goodies/other foods, and occassionally small items to busy cybertronians. Their services were very popular with hardworking mecha - for canon characters, I imagine that mechs like Prowl would often order energon so they don't have to leave work. However, they are most common on college/university campuses, like the one that Starscream and Skyfire go to in some continuties.

Starships are all very small, possibly mini-bot size or even smaller. Depending on the city, they can have alt modes that drive or fly, but because of their smallness, each one usually has a specific small area/batch of clients that they answer to. At the end of a shift, they return to their manager/host (often a kind of truck or cargo plane) and load inside their cargo holds in their alt modes to sleep.

These hosts do answer to other management, but largely act as the most direct authority figure that the Starships have. Dropship (named after a lovely oc in the fic series Cute! by NN1895 on ao3) is one such "manager," and is a kind, fatherly figure to his Starships.

They aren't hosts in the same way that Soundwave and Blaster are host mechs, but they do often have similar dynamics. Starships never get big, but they do become adults. They are associated with youthful behavoir and habits, if respected as mechs in their own right at all. Their hosts are considered responsible for everything their wards do and are expected to control, dicipline, and manage them on their own.

rebellions begin/wartime developments

When Megatron(us) - assume his gladiator/poet backstory - starts rallying and building his rebellion, a lot of Starships and their hosts emphathize.

Some engage with the rebellion directly by carrying them energon, though only those near Kaon would be close enough to do so until the Decepticons are formed officially and start taking territory.

A common development for Starships is that they start decorating themselves with stickers and more unique paint jobs (similarly to Vehicons in popular headcanons). While many did choose personal names even before the war, they were usually very generic and often overlapped. With the rise of the rebellion, they feel more encouraged to branch out into more unconventional names for mechs of their frametype.

Given the Might Makes Right type of mentality that Decepticons usually follow (at least eventually), Starships that join them often struggle with the mechs that like to push the little guys around. They're used to it, though, and those that joined this side are pissed about it, so Decepticon Starships are tight-knit and take no shit. Little ankle-biters, they are.

Assuming the Early Autobots are still largely functionist (until OPrime gets in there to start fixing things), Starships that join their side at this time continue life as normal. They still use stickers and find new names, but they're usually on this side because of inaction, happenstance, or drafting. Autobot Starships are usually less aggressive on their own (unlike Decepticon Starships) and rely on their hosts and allies for protection.

Starships usually followed their host when chosing sides, but many left their groups (a painful experience) if they believed strongly enough in a cause or neutrality. These would find new hosts and groups and re-bond with their new allies.

During the war, they still deliver energon, but also deliver other supplies like ammunition as well as information. Some even join SpecOps and become spies.

S-127, Dropship, and Others:

For Dropship specifically, he runs his team as kindly as he can. He's a little on the older side even before the war, but he keeps up well and has a strong, loyal team and family of Starships following his lead and looking after him. He's a father figure to his team and loves them all dearly, and they love him in turn.

One of his Ships is S-127, who is the excitable, passionate type. S-127 is very friendly and hopeful, though downtrodden by the unfair treatment from the caste/functionist system.

In the rebellion phase, many Starships die because they are targeted for energon or unable to get out of the way of larger mechs fighting. For those left without a host, their life expectancy is practically nothing.

S-127 follows Dropship to the Autobots with a heavy heart. A good number of their group decided to either go Decepticon or Neutral, and Dropship bid them all an understanding yet heartbroken farewell. Dropship is devestated and mourns them all, but tries his best to keep it together for the sake of those he has left. He treasures his remaining Ships like S-127 with intensified protectiveness and worry.

i have a lot of last minute/late prep to do, but here's my very first (completed) attempt at making a Kirby character.

i used Kiomow's picrew as a base, and i'm hoping to slowly enhance this design and make it more unique with time.

rereading Little Stray Feathers by Maternal_Macrophage / @egginfroggin on tumblr) again, so I decided to finally draw some old thoughts I had :)

I forget which chapter it was, but Meta remarked that the wind stings his face when GK flies with him. In the fic, there's no hint of when Meta might get his mask, but I thought it'd be a cute hypothetical for Meta to get it as a gift to help with the stinging :)

I'm still deciding how I want to draw Galacta's hair, but I recycled the braid from these drafts for some cute bonding :)
