Said it before, I’ll say it a million more times—fuck people who say “tumblr poetry” or “this reads like a teenage girl’s diary” as a critique or insult when reviewing a book. I’m sick of seeing it on Goodreads and Amazon book reviews. I’ve encountered so many lovely, intelligent writers on this website and they do not all write the same. The sexism that lies behind the notion that young girls journaling are some disposable group of society and literary world sickens me. So many of the best pieces of writing in history were from women who published their journals.

As much as I love seeing ace and aro rep in books and webtoon and other media, I don't know why it's so hard for people to realize ace and aro are not the same thing.
I see SO many asexual characters who are ALSO aromantic and the writers leave of the aromantic and just say they are ace. Plenty of asexual people want relationships and/or romance, plenty don't. Plenty aromantic people feel sexual attraction, plenty don't. They are both a spectrum and two different things even though there are many aro/ace individuals. Representation is amazing but it needs to be correct representation.
