We spend our weekends and summers traveling trying to keep our two young boys as busy as possible! We love the great outdoors and finding new places to explore. Had an amazing few days off the grid in #modoccounty camping and fishing at #bluelake ! It was such a beautiful high mountain lake - so lush and green! A perfect beach day today! Goat Rock State Beach in Jenner, Ca is beautiful! We love that it’s never crowded and an easy walk from the parking lot. There’s even a specific side of the beach for dogs 🐶. Last week we hiked to Heart Lake which is southeast of Mt. Shasta City. You take the Crystal Lake trial. It’s about 2 miles round trip and took about an hour each way. The trek is a pretty steep incline the whole way up but the boys had no problem with it. Some parts are quite rocky so definitely have hiking boots on. The trail isn’t too clear as you get closer to the top, so remember to stay to the right and on the clearest path. It was beautiful and an amazing view of Mt Shasta and the valleys below! Heading back down is definitely more challenging because of the incline. Royce struggled on the way down, so I’d recommend 5 years old and older! Would definitely do it again!
