His father used guilt trips, gaslighting, and emotional blackmail to control those around him. He kept telling her that he would leave his family for them but he really wouldn’t. — As a child, Enzo became adept at reading people, understanding their vulnerabilities, and exploiting them to his advantage. — Aivryn grew up with her biological parents and two younger siblings. As the oldest child in an Asian household, she felt like she had to set an example for her siblings and always had to be responsible. — She became a parental figure to her younger siblings and this took her away from her own experiences and robbed her of her childhood. — Aivryn has always had a fairly strained relationship with her parents (hello, mommy and daddy issues). She wasn’t given much freedom and always had to ask permission from her parents, especially her mother. — When Aivryn decided she wanted to pursue a different career instead of the more conventional paths of medicine or engineering, there was a significant rift between Aivryn and her parents. — Branded as a disappointment, her parents gave her an ultimatum which ended with her being forced to endure medicine as her course. — Once she got her degree, she packed her bags and left to stay in Valparaiso.
