This has probably been pointed out before but i’d like to reiterate it 😀

Regarding Azriel’s ‘unbothered’ reaction towards finding out that Gwyn got thrown into the Blood Rite….. Can we just agree that Cassian was not a reliable narrator at that particular point of time?

When the IC gathered at Emerie’s wrecked place:

Cassian couldn’t breathe. Hadn’t been able to breathe or speak for long minutes now….

They were speaking, Azriel with some urgency, but Cassian didnt hear him, heard nothing but the roaring in his head…

And he could do nothing to interfere, not without damning them all. His hands shook. “So, what- we just sit on our asses for a week and wait?” The idea was abhorrent. Feyre gripped his trembling fingers, squeezing tight. “Did you- Cassian, weren’t you listening at all when we got here?” No, he’d barely heard anything.

Cassian was distraught and in his fucking head at that point of time, bro was STRESSED. Do you think he actually has the mental capacity to take notice of the others’ reactions? I actually felt it was pretty deliberate of Sarah to leave out Azriel’s reactions. Even when Cassian said to Rhys “Winnow me to her. Az, you find Emerie and Gwyn.”, Sarah did not give us anything regarding Azriel’s facial expression, his body language, na-da. Because it would have been a delicate thing to write without giving much away.

And after having a few days to calm the storm in his head, Cassian says to Azriel amidst their spy work, “There are plenty of other unspeakable things that could be happening to her, to Emerie and Gwyn”, Cassian actually took noticed that the shadows deepened around Azriel, his siphons gleaming like cobalt fire. And Azriel, the big bad scary shadowsinger and spymaster of the Night Court actually stutters with his response: “You-we-trained them well, Cassian. Trust in that. It’s all we can do.”

In addition, there’s just a distinct way that Sarah loves to use when writing about her mates: The male never coddles the female. Rhys had faith in Feyre’s abilities when they were under the mountain. And when she joined the IC, he lets her manifest her abilities without worrying and cooing over her. Rowan was so damn strict on Aelin’s training in Heir of Fire, never pulling his punches when they fought with each other. And despite his initial strong protective reaction, Cassian decides to trust Nesta’s abilities to protect herself in the rite after his emotions settle down.

This is exactly why I don’t think the lack of notable reactions that Azriel displayed towards Gwyn being thrown into the rite translate to that he doesn’t care about her or that they are not mates.

I stand by the idea that the next acotar book is going to be Mor's book and the more SJM says it was obvious in acosf the more (no pun intended) it really was. The fact she is off having separate adventures adding to the end when Eris says there's more to her story, it's ready to be revealed. Everyone (me included) is so blinded by gwynriel vs elriel that we couldn't see a story already evolving.

Right now Azriel is not ready for his own story as much as I wish he was; he's just there - what would the plot even be? To be honest, neither are Elain or Gwyn. There would be limited character development for all of them.

Realistically Azriel's story can't happen until Mor is well and truly out of the picture in Azriel's eyes. Even though Cassian and Rhys say its almost like he's given up fighting for her I think there will always be a bit of hope that Mor will reciprocate his feelings and until that is solidly put down Az will not have his own story of figuring his feelings out. He's not hit the rock bottom Sarah so often likes to pull her characters up from. At the moment he's on a downward spiral. I have a feeling Crescent City 3 will be a player in involving Az, Gwyn and Elain a lot more and bringing them more prominently to the front but right now it's Mor's time to shine.

Just to let everyone know I'm deleting tumblr off my phone. This sjm platform (I'm not going to say fandom because it isnt one) is so toxic. It is a book for crying out loud!!! Its fiction. Its make believe. These characters arent real. So why do you all argue as if they are? No one is perfect and I dont know why you assume the characters/sarah has to be. You can't tell me you all live perfect lives because you don't.

I've never cared much if you were an anti or didnt like the writing as long as you stayed away from the tags. If you dont like the books, don't put it in the tags! I knew people hated the books with a burning passion but wishing Nyx, a baby, had died just to make feysand's lives miserable is so so so wrong and you need to leave this platform if you think that is okay to say.

If sjm tries to give the stans (is that even the right word anymore?) what you want. You hate it. If she does what shes always planned. You hate it. If she changes a romantic partner. You hate it. Honestly what do you want from her?! If you dont like it dont read it! No one is forcing you to. You dont need to play the high and mighty role of reading it just then prove someone hates it on tumblr.

I want to say I'm sorry to the newer genuine fans who came here to find people who loved these books as much as you did and to find friends the same way I did way back in 2015 because I promise you it wasnt always like this. It used to be fun and welcoming with lots of blogs happy to talk with you. I'm sorry they were all driven away and replaced with hateful blogs. I hope you can find someone that will gush about these books and and love them as much as you do. I'm so glad I have my best friend for that.

As this is my last post for I don't know how long I'm going to say it. The elriel / elucien/ anti sjm /anti character / blogs who claim they arent anti but really are blogs... well done you drove another person away.

i know it’s been said before but no book character will literally ever be as iconic as peeta “if it weren’t for the baby” mellark. like in book 1 when he confesses to having a crush on katniss on live televsion, that’s strategic. he knows he won’t win the games but he can help keep katniss safe and send her home and get district 12 a victor. but in book 2 he’s like “well we’re all gonna die and there’s no stopping the games so i’m just gonna fuck shit up and make every capitol official’s life a living hell for as long as i can” and then he does. nobody is doing it like him
