the big question would be what's the point of making humanoid mechs larger than ten feet even in space? restricted fuel storage and balance problems with the bipedalism of the whole thing, restricted weapons system carrying, less versatility because the whole thing starts sinking in mud because again it's on two legs, how does it go over bridges, speed concerns, increased fuel use.

the answer is because it's cool as fuck. it's cool as fuck dude have you seen the doom slayer's or king novik's Atlan with the cool ass cape. have you seen crimson typhoon from pacific rim. have you seen pacific rim. dawg the gundams. the gundam dawg.

pacific rim fucks severely for a lot of reasons but my favorite is that it opens with "the lizard aliens are unionizing so we built robots running on the power of love to fight them you got all that right" and before you have time to really process that concept bam gunshot body on the floor and the movie goes "now consider the vast power of grief in this setup" it never really stops considering
