Quick Update
Just a quick update on the website before I sign off, I’ve quickly updated the ‘About’ section as I completely forgot to include my plans for industry work.
To elaborate further, I’ve met many people who have had extensive experience within film and TV, and each has not only started their career from the bottom (runner, researcher, etc) but also had to be willing to work unpaid, both of which I am willing to do, especially if this would result in a chance for a career pursuing what I love; being part of the film and TV industry.

The website is finally finished and published! After going through a massive overhaul in visuals and content, my website has been published. You can find the link here.
After hours of editing and developing, I was able to decide on a style that I felt suited my portfolio. Included in the website is my showreel, links to previous works, behind the scenes photos, professional CV, and links to other social media, as well as this tumblr account. Included in is my email address and phone number in case anyone needs a way of contacting me for future projects or questions.
Whilst this will be the final piece of work to be done for my portfolio, I still have one more project coming up. My upcoming short film, ‘One Year Later’ is close to being completed, and you can catch some sneak previews of it in the showreel on the home page.
Overall, I’m proud of the final product, and hope that everyone who comes across it enjoys it as much as I have making it, and be sure to keep an eye out for the release of ‘One Year Later’ in the coming weeks!

Browser and Internet Problems
Unforeseen problems have arose, as not only is my browser (Google Chrome) having problems with Wix.com for unexpected reasons, my Internet connection regularly keeps dropping and disconnecting, allowing for very little work to be made on the website at home and away from university.
I’ve been able to briefly make changes every so often, but hopefully the connection will stay secure long enough to make some significant work on the website. If problems persist, I will have to find an alternative network, such as a friend’s or a public space as a contingency, and although I have not planned for such an event like this, I’ll try my best to overcome any more issues.

Website Update
No pictures as of yet, but the website is currently going through a huge change. Personally I didn’t like the vintage style as much as I had pictured, and ideally wanted a minimalist style to my website to begin with. I’ve decided to pursue my original idea, and have been making changes in order to fit that aesthetic much more. More updates and pictures will come later as more progress is made.

Some shots of the editing process of ‘One Year Later’, my upcoming film. Pictured in the first photo is Simon Kerrison, and the second are David Emery and Stephen Dalgleish, all of which gave great performances. This has been very interesting to edit due to how well it has been shot, thanks to Adam Taylor’s camera work, as well as the actor’s abilities to deliver exceptional performances in each take, and being willing to redo a scene if needed.
Overall, I look forward to the finished product as I feel that this film will be one of my best pieces of work, due to the help of fellow students and professional actors, and cannot wait to be able to post online.

Please excuse the awful face that I pull in the second photo, but here’s some great photos from another student’s shoot, set mainly within a hotel room but also with brief shots near the Albert Dock. Worked with Adam Taylor again for this one alongside Dylan Butler, who was director for this shoot, as well as Ian Smith who had runner duties.
I was mainly sound operator for this shoot, but got a chance to briefly meet Jack Rothwell, a very professional actor from Starnow who was one of two main characters in this film as well as Callum Green (pictured in the suit) who is also a fellow student who took on an acting role rather than production, due to limited time to gather actors, a similar problem that I’ve encountered on other shoots. Hopefully, both gave a great and believable performance that will surely look good once finished.

Amazing photo from a previous shoot! I helped out a fellow student, Laura Wynne (pictured on the bottom right) with her upcoming project, a children’s show shot entirely on green screen! I mainly had runner duties for this shoot, but it was great to watch work with other classmates together for a project that not only looked great, but was well rehearsed and acted very professionally with the two actors, one of which used a puppet.

Work in progress edit of my showreel for the website. Pictured is a shot of my most recent film, ‘One Year Later’ and of actor Stephen Dalgleish. Colour correction is my main focus on this piece of work for now, although I may change the pacing of a few shots or choices of scenes.
I’ve been using Sony Vegas Pro 13 for this project as well as my other film, and it’s my go to choice for editing software, despite admittedly being a bit behind the times compared to the likes of Final Cut or Premiere Pro. Although I am able to use those two editing software, Sony Vegas is something that I’m personally far more used to and can work a lot faster with, allowing for similar results to those two softwares in less time.
Updates to come on the website! Decided to go with a new layout change, and pictures will come once more work has been made.

Here is a few snapshots of behind the scenes of my most recent production! I’ve been mainly focusing on my short film rather than my website at the moment whilst I try to figure out my best pieces of work to include into a promotional portfolio. Thanks to the help of Adam Taylor (pictured operating the camera) I’ve been able to achieve some great shots for my short film, which I have to admit are a huge improvement over most of my previous pieces of work.
Once I’ve gotten a headstart on most of the editing for the scenes already shot, I’ll be able to focus more attention onto my portfolio and website, which may be undergoing a completely different style change, as other pieces of work appear to have a more professional look if they focus more on the work shown and not on the visual style of the site.

Short Film Update
Another scene shot for my upcoming film, ‘One Year Later’. In this scene, I got to work with Stephen Dalgleish for this shoot. Originally in another student’s short film, I was able to get in contact for him to appear in my short film, and he was an amazing actor to work with, and I hope to work with him again in the future.
I also had the help of fellow classmates Adam Taylor and Dylan Butler on this shoot, acting again as cinematographer and sound/runner duties respectively. As well as Stephen, I had David Emery playing the main role of Jack again for this scene, and aim to have the last scene shot soon as possible.

Progress in the Industry
Major developments in the networking side of things at the moment! I recently just had an interview for a placement in LA Productions to help with filming a series of ‘Moving On’, and I met with Sharon Ruddock who has had lots of experience in the workplace, so hopefully this can result in progress in my field of work.
I’ve also got in contact with some great actors for my short film which I’ve already shot a portion of. I got to work with David Emery and Simon Kerrison two great actors who both were able to professionally play the parts of characters in my upcoming film, ‘One Year Later’, with which I the help of classmates Adam Taylor and Dylan Butler from university, who took on duties of cinematographer, sound, and runner duties, whilst I had directorial duties. The production value of my upcoming film should feel a lot better due to the amount of extra effort put in by myself, as well as making the decision to have a larger cast and crew.

Here is a work in progress look at my website! I’m currently using Wix.com as a tool to create my website, and I’ve got inspiration for a vintage vibe for the theme of my site.
I originally tried to go for a modern minimalist style, but decided that the site looked too empty. More updates will come when the site has some major improvements!

First Post
For my first post on this new blog, I’ll introduce myself.
My name is Adam Griffiths, and I’m an amateur filmmaker, currently studying a Film and TV course at Liverpool Media Academy. In order to record my findings and thought process during the creation of a professional portfolio, I’ve decided to start up a tumblr in order to easily document my findings as I go along. I am currently in the process of creating a website, which should be completed soon.
Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you for reading!
