“ceramics are one of the most efficient ways to analyze historical material cultures, clay allows us to see the absolute presence of ourselves and others. “ @gardinermuseum . Each of the patterns in this piece depicts the history of earth, and stores the memories in the earth surrounding the Uralkali Potash Mine. The beautiful patterns created of a quiet watcher, hold the story of planet earth. . A VHS tape has its means of telling us our own stories, just like the earth tells us it’s hers. The stories held within the tapes conveys our personal life memories, such as a first smile or steps of a cherished child, or a fathers’ 90th birthday celebration. Unfortunately the information stored in the VHS tapes will be lost to the next generation because technology that is used to read it will eventually be obsolete .
