Anatomy !
The California Brown Sea Hare like other Gastropods has two pairs of tentacles one near the mouth and one behind the eye. The anterior end is use for motion and the posterior end is used for smelling. Like other mollusc they have an internal shell and layered beneath a mantle. Reproduction !
The California Brown Sea Hare are hermaphrodites meaning they have both male and female reproductive organs and reproduce sexually. They can act as either male or female and even switch off. For mating they make a mating line and the first Hare is the only female in the group. The ones that follows it are male to the one in front of it. Then they lay eggs and one individual can lay up to 500 million eggs in its lifetime. The eggs hatch into larvae and usually attach to red algae to metamorphose doubling their weight every 10 days..

Feeding Behavior !
The California Brown Sea Hare is a herbivores and their diet changes as they grow older. The larvae feeds on the red algae it attaches too. As they get older and bigger they move towards the bottom of the seafloor to which they start eating green and brown algae to which by then have developed jaws and a rasped radula to help them break the tough green algae.

Interesting Fact !
The California Sea Hare has a very complicated digestive system. They have an Alimentary canal, which is a place in hare that “horny plates” chew the food and sends it to the multichamber stomach. The Brown California Sea Hare can also take on the color of the algae it grazes on.

Anatomy !
The Pismo Clam like other Bivalves has two thick symmetrical shells that are hinged together and they have sharp teeth. They have vary in colors and patterns. Like other Molluscs they have a shell and a muscular foot (of sorts), they are bilaterally symmetrical, they have different organ systems and they have a siphon which they use to get some of their nutrients. These clams are the largest found in California growing up to 7 inches.
