“That’d be fabulous, thank you.” Addison took a seat and crossed her legs. “Where do we start? How about dear old Uncle Al?”
Setting his laptop to the side, James gave Addison an unimpressed look. “I’m sorry. Should I start over? Do you want some milk? Cookies? A manicure while we gossip?”

Addison rolled her eyes. “Oh James, how hilarious you are. But I don’t remember asking you to. How dare I attempt to make conversation?”
“One of us has to do some work.” He announced pointedly. “You know, work. That thing you avoid, Addi. And last I checked, I don’t have to tell you about everything I do.”

“You? Working? Color me surprised, Spade. That’s the last thing I would have expected to hear from you. What’s got you so busy?”
“If you’re going to stand there,” James started with obvious frustration, “at least say something. Otherwise there is that whole saying abut picture lasting longer - and no, that is not an invitation for you to take out your phone and get a picture. I’m actually doing work unlike some people.”

Are you saying you don’t know how to read?
“I don’t understand how people can just read for more than five minutes. ‘Read this March, it’s a good book!’ Like fuck it is, I dunno what half this shit means!”

Addison shook her head. “Not sure yet. Just it doesn’t add up really, how someone we don’t know was able to get in... and no one notice them? That’s the part that has me bothered.” She sighed. “But I don’t want to talk about work anymore. Ruin our lovely evening. I asked you out on a date, not a business meeting. So if I talk about work, you have permission to tell me to shut up.”

“The nest? Ah right that place. Yeah I only do my work at home. It’s too loud there and too many people are nosy. I’m still used to doing things on my own and when I’m painting i need that quiet and space.” His head lifts to her curiously, “You think there may be another shooting there? or are you more worried about how the shooter got in in the first place?”

Addison’s smile faltered for a quick second as she adjusted herself in her seat. “I’m fine. Nothing I can’t take.” She looked up at him and reached across the table and squeezed his hand before moving as the waiter presented the wine. “Good. With all this madness around right now, it’s good to stay out of it. Also, do me a favor and just stay out of the Nest as much as possible for me. I just have this bad feeling I can’t shake. You can bring work home if you have to.”

He nods faintly as he settles in his seat, “It’s going alright, I’ve been working on a piece for the boss. How’s your work going?” His head shifts toward her and he sighs rubbing the back of his neck. “I’m alright, coping I guess. It helps that I’m keeping busy that’s what I need right now. just to stay busy. How are you? how are you healing?”

“I don’t think you could get any more pretentious if you tried, kiddo.” She shook her head. “What’s up your asshole? Damn.”
Charlie averted his eyes away from her with a look of annoyance“Then why be a bother?” He mumbled as his eyes met back with hers in a sharp fashion. Eye contact was a gateway to no hesitance, but it proved to be harder than he thought with that cocky approach she was giving him. “Stop the innocent act. A woman like you is defiantly not going to retrieve nobility from me.”

“We’ll take Ghost Horse Cabernet Sauvignon, please,” she said to the waiter with a smile. Leaning back, she took a deep breath and closed her hands over her lap. “How’s work?” she asked with a smile. “You feeling okay since we got back? Haven’t really gotten to talk at all since then.”

He gasps in feigned shock. “I’m not a villian with a russian accent..you offend me dear.” He grins looping her arm in his. “I’m glad you did, i think we both could use a good night out, together.” He smirks as they step inside, “I promise I can keep it under 1k, I’m not that much of an expensive drinker. Though there’s nothing good with good wine or a smooth bourbon. Which do you prefer?”

Addison couldn’t help but laugh out loud. “Maybe you’d be a better villain with an accent like that.” She stepped forward and kissed the corner of his mouth, careful not to get lipstick on him. “Thanks for meeting me. I know we’ve both been busy, but I figured I’d steal some time from you and take you out for an expensive steak.” Taking his arm, they walked in and were immediately sat in the VIP section. Addison smiled. She’d done the owner a favor a few years back, and it paid off to get that sort of access.
“What would you like to drink? You can get the most expensive thing on the menu if you want. But if my tab is over 1k, then you’re gonna have to earn that back.”

Dmitir smiled softly when he got the message from Addison. He’d been so busy perfecting his forgery for Vivianne that he hadn’t seen much of the brunette. He’d mostly been locked up in his room staring at a piece of canvas. He relished the idea to clean up and don a suit and it didn’t take him long to get ready.
Smiling softly as he watched her walk up to him, looking stunning in her dress. Putting on his best Sean Connery impression he grins to her, “that would be Kariyev, Dmitri Kariyev..and may I say my darling you look absolutely ravishing”

Don’t smile. It only encourages me.
I’ve noticed that.

“Calm the fuck down. I’m not going to fight you.” Addison rolled her eyes. With her back still healing, she really didn’ want to tempt fate that the angry Baby Heart might have a more powerful punch than she’d like to admit. Instead, she smiled and played off herself to be normal. “Can’t a girl say hi without getting some shitty response?”
Charlie went to put away the lighter when he spotted Addison walking towards him. Just by her walk he was already getting irritated, and he was defiantly not in the mood to start something. Yet, there was never really a good time to start a problem for him at least. “And as of now, you are also on your own. What’s your point?” He breathed out as his jaw clenched, trying to keep his calm. “Think I can’t deal with someone like you?”

An Actual Date || Addison & Dmitri
Addison hadn’t seen much of Dmitri since they got home. Vivianne needed her working around the clock to clean up what happened at the Raven’s Nest and organize a funeral for Scott. For once, she actually felt bad. Scott was good, and he’d done his job well. Also someone she didn’t want to murder on a regular basis. But she notified the family and took care of all the details.
Rather than asking him herself, she sent him a text and asked if he’d join her for dinner. Black tie affair, the whole nine yards. She’d wear a dress that covered her back, something she rarely did but stitches weren’t something she’d want people to know about. In fact, it was hard to admit but the scar was going to be something she didn’t want to have to learn to live with. Not at all.
She met him outside of the Siena Tavern and walked toward him. “You clean up nicely,” she said as a smile spread across her face. “Maybe I should make you wear a suit more often. Definitely your style. Very James Bond-ish.”
