Benefits of Special Hazard Systems
Designed to limit the loss of assets, information and high-value irreplaceable assets.
Designed to quickly detect a fire or high heat condition.
Designed to suppress fires when sprinklers are not appropriate as the first and only means of protection.
Designed to protect people and prevent business interruption.
Require specially trained and qualified personnel to design, install, service and maintain these systems.
All systems should be thoroughly inspected, tested and documented for proper operation.
Whether you are looking to protect a small IT room, a record storage facility, or even a large substation, our experienced team will design and provide the special hazard system to protect your valuable product. From FM 200, Novec 1230, High/ Low-pressure CO2, and various INERGEN systems, A&D can provide the ideal solution to your exact suppression needs.
FM 200
FM-200 is a clean, gaseous agent containing no particles or oily residues. The FM- 200 Fire Suppression System is an engineered system in a protected area, typical areas that can be protected by an FM-200 system are:
Bank Vaults
Data Centers
Electronic Data Processing
Studios Communication Centers
Control Rooms
Test Laboratories
Flammable Liquid Storage
80% of FM-200 firefighting effectiveness is achieved through heat absorption and 20% through direct chemical means (action of the fluorine radical on the chain reaction of a flame).
Complete suppression using FM-200 has the following advantages:
The low concentration of FM-200 required means less visual obscurity and minimal risk to personnel.
The small quantity of agent discharged minimizes over pressurization of the protected area.
Novec 1230
Novec 1230 extinguishes the fire in seconds before it even starts and long before water-based systems discharge.  Novec 1230 fire protection fluid extinguishes fire primarily by removing heat from the fire. It is also electrically non-conductive.
High/Low-pressure CO2
Carbon dioxide (CO2) is a colorless, odorless, and chemically inert gas that is both readily available and electrically non-conductive. It extinguishes fire primarily by lowering the level of oxygen that supports combustion in a protected area. This mechanism of fire suppression makes CO2 suppression systems highly effective, requiring minimal clean-up, but should be used in normally unoccupied hazard locations or otherwise avoided by personnel when discharged.
INERGEN Systems-
INERGEN is a highly effective fire suppression system for extinguishing fire & preventing re-ignition with no risk to people or damage to equipment if engineered and installed by a qualified fire suppression systems installation company. Contact A&D for a no-obligation consultation, we are here to answer your questions and help determine what is the best system for your needs.

Restaurant and commercial kitchens require their own set of safety considerations, after all, they’re a common place for open flames, high heat and potential fires. Restaurant kitchen hood fire suppression systems require a semi-annual inspection to ensure top performance and safety for employees and customers alike.
While executing the Inspection and testing for this Kitchen Hood System, the balloons are used to show how the suppression system will extinguish flames in the event of a fire.
Inspecting restaurant kitchen hood fire protection systems for proper function requires more than just a visual overview or a system test. Proper maintenance from a factory authorized trained service technician is essential for compliance and warranty.
Always make sure that all staff members are aware of the scheduled date and time of the service and inspection. Cooking equipment must be cool and not in use prior to the inspection. Notify anyone who could be involved or affected. Also, make sure that everyone present at the location is aware that fire alarm must be taken out of service during the service and inspection time period.
A few tips to remember:
Keep all kitchen equipment free of grease build-up
Always run the exhaust system during appliance preheat, cooking and cooling
Never operate exhaust systems without filters in place
Never restrict air intake passages for the exhaust system
Never use flammable solvents or cleaners on appliances or hoods
Never block fire suppression discharge nozzles with pans, shelves or other  objects
Perform regular grease removal from the hood, filters and duct system
Never move or reconfigure appliances without consulting an authorized service company first.
Inspect your system semi-annually as required, with an authorized service provider before the inspection date.

The purpose of Fire Prevention Week is to bring awareness to the risk of death in case of a fire and provide educational resources to people of all ages, races, and socioeconomic status in order to keep everyone safe.
Tumblr media
In a fire, mere seconds can mean the difference between a safe escape and a tragedy. Fire safety education isn’t just for school children. Teenagers, adults, and the elderly are also at risk in fires, making it important for every member of the community to take some time every October during Fire Prevention Week to make sure they understand how to stay safe in case of a fire.
People living in a high-rise apartment or condominium building need to think ahead and be prepared in the event of a fire. It is important to know the fire safety features in your building and work together with neighbors to help keep the building as fire-safe as possible. Safety FACT• High-rise buildings are more likely to have sprinklers and fire alarm equipment than other non-high-rise buildings.
BE PREPARED! • For the best protection, select a fully sprinklered building. If your building is not sprinklered, ask the landlord or management to consider installing a sprinkler system. • Meet with your landlord or building manager to learn about the fire safety features in your building (fire alarms, sprinklers, voice communication procedures, evacuation plans and how to respond to an alarm). • Know the locations of all available exit stairs from your floor in case the nearest one is blocked by fire or smoke. • Make sure all exit and stairwell doors are clearly marked, not locked or blocked by security bars and clear of clutter. • If there is a fire, pull the fire alarm on your way out to notify the fire department and your neighbors. • If the fire alarm sounds, feel the door before opening and close all doors behind you as you leave. If it is hot, use another way out. If it is cool, leave by the nearest way out. • If an announcement is made throughout the building, listen carefully and follow directions. • Use the stairs to get out. Typically you should not use the elevator unless directed by the fire department. Some buildings are being equipped with elevators intended for use during an emergency situation. These types of elevators will clearly be marked that they are safe to use in the event of an emergency.

Pros of Installing Fire Sprinklers in Your Home
Fire Sprinkler Systems Can Save Lives
The biggest benefit of installing a fire sprinkler system in your home is that the system can help save the life of your family and pets. A fire can quickly spread in a home. In 2006, 2,620 people died because of home fires and 12,925 were injured. The US Fire Administration and Federal Emergency Management Agency believe that most of these deaths and injuries could have been prevented had the home had a fire sprinkler system. If a fire breaks out, the sprinklers are activated, spraying water immediately over the fire. This can put it out or prevent it from spreading, buying you and your loved ones time to escape. You can't put a price on this.
A Decrease In Your Homeowner's Insurance Policy
The other advantage of installing fire sprinklers in your residence is that it can help you save on the costs of your homeowner's insurance. It is estimated that you can lower your homeowner's insurance bill by five to ten percent by installing fire sprinklers. Yes, it can be costly to install these sprinklers. However, you can recoup some of this money simply by lowering your insurance costs. And since a well-maintained sprinkler system can last for decades, you will reap this reward for many years, helping to curb the cost of the system in the long run.
Deciding whether to install residential fire sprinklers in your home is a big decision. Learning the pros and cons of doing so can help you make the choice that is right for your family. For more information on fire sprinkler systems, contact a company like NorCal Fire Protection.

We offer the latest fire extinguisher training technology, using LED- driven digital flames and laser extinguisher training. This realistic simulation makes it easy to learn and there is no cleanup. The conical laser replicates extinguisher discharge, rather than depending on a dry- chemical or CO2 extinguisher.
OSHA requires if you have portable fire extinguishers in your workplace and employees are expected to use them, then they must receive annual hands-on fire extinguisher training.
The electronic control system responds to the trainees’ actions, putting the fire out only when the extinguisher is used correctly. This real-time feedback enables our instructors to instantly correct the trainees and ensure they’re prepared in case of a real fire emergency. The training simulator relies on LED driven digital flames and a laser extinguisher, eliminating any hazards associated with traditional extinguisher training.
• Requirements are in accordance with OSHA • Schedule training sessions up to 25 people • Students receive certifications valid for one year • Kitchen staff training also available
Whether you are a single food truck needing an onboard hand-held fire extinguisher, a large shopping mall needing extinguishers throughout your entire facility, or simply need your existing extinguisher serviced, A&D provides the best product in the industry to protect your asset.
