Discover the Original Ichiran Ramen Restaurant in Fukuoka 🍜

If you’ve ever craved authentic Japanese ramen, then you’ve probably heard of Ichiran Ramen—the ramen chain that’s become a global sensation. But did you know that it all started in Fukuoka? That’s where I recently visited the original Ichiran Ramen branch, and let me tell you, it’s an experience you won’t want to miss!

A Journey Back to Where It All Began

Ichiran Ramen wasn’t always the iconic brand we know today. It started as a humble little shop called Futaba Ramen back in 1960. Fast forward six years, and the name changed to Ichiran, which means "one orchid." Now, with over 80 locations in Japan and several more internationally, this ramen shop has made its mark on the world.

But there’s something special about visiting the original branch. It’s like stepping back in time, to where the Ichiran magic first started. The vibe is traditional yet welcoming, and the ramen? Out of this world!

What Makes Ichiran Ramen So Unique?

Ichiran is famous for its tonkotsu ramen—a rich pork bone broth that’s been simmered to perfection. Their noodles are crafted from a unique blend of quality flours, and the signature red spicy sauce, made from 30 different ingredients, adds the perfect kick.

Even better, this ramen restaurant offers an English menu, so if you’re worried about ordering, don’t be! It’s super easy for non-Japanese speakers to navigate the menu and customize their ramen to their liking. Want to see how it’s done? A Ramen Experience Like No Other

At Ichiran, privacy is key. You’ll find small, private dining booths where you can savor your ramen in peace. If you’re dining with friends, you can even open the dividers to share the experience. The staff are polite, bowing as they serve you, ensuring you have the best ramen experience possible.

And don’t forget the little surprises! If you finish your soup, look out for a cute message at the bottom of the bowl. It’s these small touches that make Ichiran so special.

Hey Tumblr fam! 🌸 Ready for a thrill? Join me on a journey to Oita's spectacular Nanase Homura Fire Festival! This isn't just any summer event—it's a dazzling celebration of fire, water, history, and hometown spirit that you won't want to miss.

Imagine lanterns stretching for 2 kilometers along the serene Nanase River, casting a magical glow as night falls. This is the mesmerizing "Man lantern" display, a highlight of the festival. But that's just the beginning. The heart-pounding pillar pine competition will leave you on the edge of your seat. Watch as local heroes race to ignite fireworks atop 12-meter-high pillars, showcasing their incredible skill and determination.

🌿✨ Discovering a Hidden Gem in Oita! ✨🌿

Last week, we planned to visit Yufugawa Canyon but discovered dogs aren't allowed. While my father-in-law stayed with our dog in the car, we took a quick look but couldn't relax. So, we decided to find another waterfall instead.

Being a local of Oita, my father-in-law took us to a hidden gem that felt like stepping into a Ghibli movie! 🌲💫

The journey to this magical place began with a hidden entrance through the backyard of a house. We had to navigate a small cave/tunnel, and then we emerged into a secluded, natural amphitheater. The air was filled with a refreshing mist, perfect for the summer heat.

The waterfall itself was breathtaking! It featured two different streams: one fell directly, while the other cascaded down in two steps. The volume of water was quite impressive, creating a beautiful, dreamy vibe with water flying everywhere like a light fog. 💧🌊

$3 Udon Restaurant in Osaka | Low Budget Travel Japan | Japanese Noodlesoup

Welcome back to Osaka! In this video, we're exploring an authentic Udon restaurant located in Fukushima ward – Udon Sanku, where you can enjoy a delicious meal on a budget while experiencing the true flavors of Japan.

As you step into the restaurant, you'll notice a vending machine to purchase your meal tickets. Don't worry if it's all in Japanese; I'll provide a description of the vending machine in the comments below to help you navigate through the ordering process.

Once you have your tickets, head to the kitchen area, present them, and choose a seat to relax. Like in most Japanese restaurants, you'll find free water available for guests.

Next, listen closely as your order is called, and then head to the counter to pick up your bowl of Udon. Customize your dish with toppings like tempura flakes or chili powder (7 spices) according to your taste.

I opted for the basic version, topped with a raw egg and green onions, which cost only around $2-3. The noodles are delightfully thick and mouthwateringly delicious, complemented by a flavorful broth that perfectly matches the Udon.

Udon has a rich history, dating back over 1000 years, and it's interesting to note that Udon is more popular in western Japan, while Soba takes the lead in eastern Japan. Surprisingly, Udon and Somen share the same noodles, with the primary difference being their thickness – Somen being very thin and Udon, as we know it, being thick and hearty.

Once you finish your delightful meal, remember to return your plate to the kitchen and dispose of the one-time-use items yourself.

It's important to mention that the exit is separate from the entrance in this restaurant, so make sure to head in the right direction when you leave.

On December 12, 2021, the “Lucky Park in Namie Town” with the lucky motif of “Fukushima Support Pokemon” opened on the premises of Roadside Station Namie.
