. We are looking to improve our basil variety. Basil is very susceptible to all kinds of diseases, and lots of new breeding has gone into basil genetics that selects for disease resistance. But somewhere along the line, the flavor becomes compromised. While we like our basil variety a lot for its big, healthy growth, the flavor and. texture is not perfect. We have been growing a dozen new varieties to see if we should add a new basil to the 2020 line up.
