Name Spreadsheet

Hi all! I'm trying to create a spreadsheet of names for naming characters. I've mostly been saving names of people I meet but I'd love to expand it to everyone and all the names you all know!

A few notes on this sheet:

The gender column is for common usage in whatever culture/language it is used in. If I don't know, I put the gender of the person with the name.

The language/common usage column is based on my knowledge of where the name is commonly used. If I don't know it, I just leave a question mark.

Feel free to edit the gender and language/common usage as you see necessary! There's also a notes column if you want to add nuance or other notes on the names.

Jeremy Knox has the time to customize everyone in his phone's ringtones because when he is alone in his room in his frigid house, that phone is the only thing connecting him to the outside world and his friends and everyone else.

So of course he gives them cute little sounds. Or ominous sounds. He can't verbalize how he feels, but he can still express it. And that little electronic in his hand is his last connection to and reminder of life outside the Wilshire estate.

Jeremy's phone is an extension of him.

I love Jeremy Knox so much and it saddens and perplexes me that not everyone is as captivated by him and when I see people talking about how much they don't like him or find him uninteresting obviously they're entitled to their opinions and can express them however they want... But it just makes me want to love him twice as hard to compensate

even knowing he was about to die, Neil still found it within his heart to be a snarky teenager and I love that about him

rereading aftg rn and noticed this

the idea of coach hernandez (who we get like 2 pages of) showing his care for neil is just so bittersweet. like he lets him sleep in the locker room, believes he is good enough to play in college, sees how much he lives and breathes this sport, and just seems to care. genuinely care.

i wonder how many times neil inspired fierce loyalty in others but had no way to see why (or even that) they cared.

propaganda under the cut

Nathan Wesninski: "Nathan Wesninski is a mob-affiliated serial killer known as the Butcher of Baltimore. He frequently murdered people in front of his son, to the point where some of this son's first memories are of people dying, and had him trained to use knives and guns. He was also extremely abusive, notably hitting him with a hot iron at one point. When his son was 10, Nathan literally sold him to the mafia to join their sports team cult, though he had to audition for it first and would be killed if he didn't pass. At this point, his mother took him and ran. They spent 8 years running from Nathan and his associates, who chased them all across North America and Europe trying to capture and/or kill them, and when he did catch up to them, he killed his wife, though his son escaped. Two years later, on his son's birthday, he rigged his locker so it would dump blood on him and all his sports equipment. When he got out of prison (he was in on charges unrelated to the killings) he kidnapped his son and tortured him with the intent to slowly kill him, which only didn't happen because he himself was killed first. He's horrible. His son is the main character and he's just resigned to the fact that his father is going to kill him within the year. His whole torso is covered in scars from Nathan's abuse and the years on the run with people trying to kill them, he was shot, people tried to gut him like a pig multiple times. At one point in the story he's talking to another character and she mentions that her father was killed in prison and he's like "god i wish that were me" 😭"

He had been hunting them down ever since so he could kill them. 4. He successfully killed his wife and almost managed to kill his son before he died. So all around just a pretty shitty guy."

Sorry this took so long, I've been traveling and then recovering from traveling!

9. who is your biggest inspiration?

Both my parents but especially my mom. She raised seven kids and honestly is the best mother I know of, incredible patient. She let me homeschool when I wanted, let me try going to public school when I wanted, let me homeschool again after I hated public school, encouraged me in my gymnastics for the 14 years I did it, supported me when I opened an Etsy shop in high school, and made my childhood as an undiagnosed autistic kid honestly pretty great. 

She also helped supplement my dad's income by translating for various people/companies. She ended up doing some work for some major companies, translating user manuals and such. Now she works as a Spanish and Science teacher at a local school.

Anyway I could go on and on and on about her because she is amazing and patient and kind and so so so smart but I'll leave it there.

10. any unusual fears?

Dead spiders (live ones are fine, I will let them climb on my hand so I can take them outside) and never being able to have kids. My husband and I have been dealing with infertility for four years at this point (I have PCOS) and I'm scared I'll never be able to have my own kids even though it's been a strong desire of mine from the time I was a little kid myself.

11. favorite myth?

The phoenix (no surprise there I guess). I love the idea of being able to rise from the ashes, born anew to soar through the skies. There are quite a few variations of the phoenix but that part tends to remain the same. Plus the idea of a firebird is just so freaking cool to me!

outsider perspective of neil josten will never not be the funniest thing in the world to me like wdym this no-name, no-reputation kid was picked up by the most infamous d1 team in the league and proceeds to 1. insult one of the most famous college players on live tv, 2. claim his notoriously bad team is going to beat a team who has never lost, 3. spends christmas break with that team and comes back with red hair, blue eyes, and a face tat that’s basically the equivalent of that same famous player’s seal of approval, 4. says that the face tat is meaningless and insults the team & player to reporters, 5. gets kidnapped during a riot after a game, 6. comes back with a ton of injuries that are clearly from torture (including a burn mark where the face tat was, 7. be revealed as the son of an infamous serial killer (who’s dead now, btw), 8. play in a totally different position than normal during finals and actually succeed in both playing that position and winning the game against the undefeated team, 9. almost get murdered by the famous player on live tv for having the audacity to win like ??? honestly idk if it’s funnier to imagine all of this from a PSU fan’s perspective or from a fan of like, some team in the west who’s just watching all of this from a distance like “hahaha what the fuck is happening over there??”

don’t know much about katelyn mackenzie but i have a feeling she drives a mini cooper. there’s a joke to be made about liking minis in there somewhere
