Hm, thinking about how Brian's existence is only treated like a memory. He doesn't grow or change in people's points of view, he's just someone they used to know.

Someone cheerful, kind and always there to lend a helping hand. He's not allowed to be seen as anything else than what he used to be - and I think that's why nobody ever stopped to think that Hoody COULD be him. Because there's NOTHING LEFT that would indicate that's the person they used to know because in their minds HE STAYED THE SAME.

That's why there's nothing to pick up on, there's nothing to feel familiar, no gestures, no patterns, no mannerisms. Nothing. Brian lost all of it, and nobody cared about the person he BECAME because the picture perfect memory of him is too good to lose.
