Idk if it’s just me but been listening to ‘I Am Not A Robot’ by Marina and all i can think about is Agatha after the hex becoming Wanda’s mentor and Wanda’s having a bit of a meltdown and this is Agatha talking to her, esp can imagine the cheeky comments of being NOT a robot, it’s so in character with her snarky comments
#maybe it’s just me#but I really see it#esp in the lyrics#like I see it as Agatha attempting to comfort her but also still being a bit snarky#agatha harkness#wanda maximoff#wandavision#agatha x wanda

WandaVision Theory: “Ralph” and “Agnes” were in a Lavender Marriage:
For those who don’t know what a Lavender Marriage is, I’ll explain it as best as I can. Back in the 20s, 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s, etc..., homosexuality was ILLEGAL. If someone came out, or was forcibly outed, as LGBTQ+ at the time, they were at serious risk of being blacklisted: Fired from their jobs, rejected by their peers and/or families, and cast out from ALL of homophobic society. It was a very dangerous time to be LGBTQ+, which forced many people to remain in the closet.
This led to many closeted members of the LGBTQ community entering what were known as “Lavender Marriages”. They would get married in what were considered “traditional marriages” (at the time) in order to hide their true sexual orientations from the public. In many cases, their spouses weren’t aware of this, and many spouses who found out later were reportedly shocked to discover the truth. (However, in some cases, they were aware of their spouse’s true sexuality, and may have even been hiding in the closet themselves.)

Remember in Episode 1, when Agatha asked Wanda if she was single, because she thought Wanda was living in the house by herself? In the 1950’s, NOT being married was seen as bizarre and suspicious, and was seen by many as a sign of “being a homosexual.” Agnes not having a husband would have been viewed by the 1950s-tinted town of Westview as “peculiar” for the time, especially when many women at the time married right out of high school.
As for Agatha herself, she showed many, many, m a n y signs as being attracted to Wanda instead of Ralph, her “husband” in the Hex. (Examples: Calling Wanda “Hot Stuff”, flirting with Wanda in the kitchen, helping Wanda with her “seduction techniques”, etc…) while simultaneously seeming annoyed- if not even disgusted- by “her husband Ralph”.
Examples include:
• Implying that Vision should make Ralph disappear during the magic act
• Claiming that Ralph doesn’t know their anniversary
• Never actually including him onscreen as Ralph; Only as “Pietro” (*cough* Peter *cough*)
She also said that Ralph “looks better in the dark”, and… uh…

(He… looks better in the dark?)
The idea of being in a Lavender Marriage could also explain why Agatha was so quick to pass Ralph off as “Fietro” instead of pretending to remain married to him. “Fietro” mentioned that Wanda “did a good job of keeping couples and families together.” Obviously, as Agatha and Ralph were never actually married, it’s no surprise that she only needed him for her plan, as well as to be able to blend into Westview easier. (It’s also noteworthy that she gradually stopped bringing up Ralph as often as the decades went on, and solely focused on him as “Fietro” in her plans.)
Under her brainwashing, it’s unknown whether or not Ralph considered Agatha his “wife” but the point still stands: She never really loved him.

IN CONCLUSION… Agatha Harkness is a closeted lesbian who created a fake marriage to Ralph Bohner inside the Hex, in order to avoid being outed as a lesbian in the 50s-80s.
