I think we as a fandom should just collective ignore Gabriel’s death. Every time his death is brought up we’ll just add “almost” in front of it until the LS writers are forced to bring him back through sheer confusion.

The fact that I will never get to see Carlos and Gabriel work an investigation together is SO RUDE!!! Whyyyyyy Lone Star WHY!!!

I find the way Carlos interacts with TK when he's in his #Moods™ very interesting
Carlos is very good at realising what TK needs from him early on. NEEDS not WANTS.
From as early as the police station when TK pours his heart out to him he listens, the conversation reaches an end point and then Carlos cracks a joke which makes TK smile and breaks the tension, leaving the door open, also saying 'What you've told me doesn't scare me, I'm not intimidated, I'm not running away. I'm here'
Then when TK is meant to be on a date with him and is seething about Judd, slamming his glass down and everything. TK WANTS to vent, WANTS to stew in this negative emotion. Carlos instead gives him what he NEEDS, doesn't usher to make it better or big TK up by acting like he's really impressed by him or validate the angry behaviour, he's honest and holds the mirror up to him, doesn't encourage the bad mood.
During TK's most iconic blow up (imo), he messes up - deals with it wrong, makes jokes, deflects. BUT that's not because he doesn't know what TK needs, he knows exactly what TK needs, honesty but he's not willing to talk about his parents and can't give it to him. That's why the whole conversation goes south.
When TK is spiraling about Nancy, he says 'Nobody hates your guts TK' because that's the honest truth, he then holds the mirror up to TK again. This is want TK NEEDS but maybe not necessarily want he thought he WANTED when he laid down on the couch to talk to Carlos. It's natural when we're anxious and spiraling to seek reassurance from other people 'Validate my feelings' ''Tell me everything is going to be okay' 'Tell me I'm right' 'Be on my side because I feel alone' and everyone does that and it's okay in small doses and for certain situations BUT it's not healthy to give into that behaviour in all the time. Carlos displays the perfect balance very well here I think.
Even in 2x12, it was an impossible situation but Carlos dealt with it in the best way he could imo. TK obviously WANTED a reaction here, wanted to take his anger out and have it thrown back. Carlos instead gave him what he NEEDED and stayed calm, didn't react, and I think the restraint hold is another way of displaying "You don't scare me, I'm not intimated, I'm not running away"
In the promo, although it's difficult to analyse because we don't know how the arc pans out. TK is spiraling about his shirt and what Iris will think about him. Instead of pandering to that he breaks the tension with a joke (my wiiife ;)< i love him he's so rude for this lmao) and gives TK the honest facts about Iris' meds and what they do to her filter.
But when TK really, really needs comfort and softness, he provides that too.
He's reassuring, gives him physical contact, and support. He listens. (you could maybe argue that he doesn't give TK what he needs when his mum dies by leaving to go get food but there wasn't ANYTHING Carlos could have done to pull TK out of that need to use, TK needed to go through that one on his own)
And when he can't figure it out and doesn't know what to do, we watched him go through discovering the right path.
In short, Carlos knows and loves TK well enough to see when he's at level of stress where he's able to cope and is just needing of honesty and the reliability of him just being there VS when TK is actually in real need of serious emotional support and someone to lean on. The show does a good job of displaying two people who in a committed, long-term, loving, realistic relationship.

Me: *reading a fanfiction*
Me: ah yes, that was a good new fanfiction
Me: *seeing I have it bookmarked = I read it already in the past*
Me: but-but why don't I remember such a great fanfiction?
This is a gift and a curse in the same time

90% of writing advice can be thrown out the window for your first draft.
Show don’t tell? Ignore.
Basic grammar and punctuation? Unnecessary.
Physical descriptions of characters? Don’t need to bother.
Solid plot? That’s for later.
The words don’t come as fast when you’re thinking of the best way to put them together. It doesn’t have to be pretty, or much more than inconsistent nonsense. The point is to have it exist.
Effective storytelling is for subsequent drafts! Go write some nonsense!

After he and his boyfriend Carlos (Rafael Silva) were drugged by Sadie (Julie Benz)—the deranged former neighbor of his father, Owen (Rob Lowe)—T.K. (Ronen Rubinstein) found this his two years of sobriety had been taken away from him. So he took it upon himself to ensure that he would not suffer a relapse, going 90 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings in as many days. And he took a special liking to Cooper, a former addict who is committed to helping others in the community stay sober—so much so that T.K. asked him to be his first sponsor since moving from New York to Austin.
But after waking up one night to the sound of T.K. chatting away on the phone with Cooper, Carlos—who has consistently reiterated his desire to support T.K.’s sobriety—can’t shake the feeling that T.K. has chosen to exclude him from an important part of his life, which is exacerbated when he unexpectedly meets his boyfriend’s sponsor before one of their AA meetings. When Carlos lashes out later that night, explaining that he “feels like [Cooper]’s getting parts of you that I don’t,” T.K. responds without missing a beat: “Because you haven’t been there—and thank God you haven’t. I need people in my life that have, and if that means that sometimes I’m late getting home, just know it’s only so I will get home, Carlos.”
“This is the first time that we address Carlos’ relationship with not only T.K. but [also] T.K.’s sobriety,” Silva told Observer. “Carlos can choose to be there for T.K., but it has to be of T.K.’s own accord. He doesn’t know what it means to be addicted to certain substances, to go through withdrawal, so this is a world that Carlos has no idea how to maneuver through. And that confuses him and probably pisses him off, and he feels isolated, because Carlos likes to control, he likes to maintain order, and that’s where he gains a sense of self as well. So what happens when he can’t do any of those things? That’s the story that we were telling in this episode.”

This makes me think of one of my fav fic writers @igonecrazy
Fic authors deserve more credit.
Story time: I started a book about 23 hours ago and just finished it. Also in that time I slept for 10 hours, spent time with family, was at work, etc. Anyway, I enjoyed the book (Simon vs. the Homo Sapiens Agenda). But it felt like it flew by, so after I finished I looked up the word count because what are pages? Pages are meaningless. I only function in word counts anymore.
The estimate I found was 58,580. My immediate reaction was “oh, that’s why. That’s nothing!” But what a shitty response. Because no. That’s not nothing. That’s a whole. Damn. Book. An entire novel! And Fic authors regularly bust out 30k, 50k, 100k, 150k words. AND THEY DO IT FOR FREE. WHILE WORKING AND LIVING THEIR LIVES.
So anyway, thank your favorite fic author today because they deserve it. Because they’re amazing. They’re the MVPs.
