Descole/Sycamore probably found them just laying around one day and was like “...well, I don’t need these anymore. I might as well just throw them away.” and Raymond was like “lol ok Master, go ahead,” and then thirty minutes later Sycamore is folding them neatly and putting them back where they were and Raymond’s just smiling knowingly in the background.

I don’t remember where it was, but a long time ago I read a really sad oneshot about this, where Layton’s reason for never letting Flora come along was that he’s used to his family members always dying on him, and when future Flora didn’t show up he just assumed that she was dead. It was very well-written. And sad. If anyone knows where it is, I would be forever grateful for a link.

When I first played PL6, I wrote (but never finished) a oneshot about that incident and when I got to this part I legit started crying??? that’s why I never finished it honestly.

23. Favorite cutscene from each game?: OOOH. So I can’t name most of them, but I have a particular liking for the ending Randall scene from Miracle Mask where he starts to fall but is caught by Layton and Henry, the last scene with Clair from Unwound Future (I cry everytiem), and the scene where they board the Targent ship near the beginning of Azran Legacy.

30. Least favorite minigame?: If you try to make me do that STUPID NUT ROLLING THING AGAIN then SO HELP ME GOSH

37. A character you used to like but dislike now: Chelmey, oddly enough. Like I’ve said before, my first game was Unwound Future, so my introduction to him was pretty good, and nothing really happened to make me dislike him?? I just,,, can’t stand him now. And I don’t. know. why. It honestly just happened out of nowhere. I just. Stopped liking him.

11. First impression of Luke?: My friend who introduced me to the series didn’t like him very much, but my first impressions of him were actually pretty positive! I thought he was cute, and the first game I played was Unwound Future, so all the first I knew of him was his tragic separation from Layton.

29. Favorite minigame?: *stomps boots repeatedly against floor* THE FASHION ONE FROM AZRAN LEGACY. THE FASHION ONE FROM AZRAN LEGACY. IT’S SO RIDICULOUS AND I LOVE IT.

55. Favorite quote from any of the games?: “You don’t mean Mr. “I-like-to-wreck-things-with-mechanical-monsters-and-dress-up-as-posh-ladies” Descole?”  STILL NOT OVER IT. Made even better by the fact that the man himself was right there listening.
