I've just watched Shubman's interview for the Hollywood reporter india.

I gotta say, it is one of the best ones out there. They asked him all the right questions and his answers were just.... like it made me realize that he deserves everything he's got and he knows what he is doing with his life.

I really hope this is what media will be more like with celebrities and focus on what makes a person themselves.

western media that we consumed as kids was honestly so misleading. as kids, we always perceived teenage life as carefree and "cool", but ironically, it turned out to be more of a cage than our child selves could've ever imagined. instead of indulging in enjoying the supposed best days of our lives, most of us our immersed neck deep in academic pressure and competition, anxiety, personal insecurities and perpetual sadness. and how can you make children, who never in their life have seen their own parents live in basic harmony, believe in the concept of "true love"? how can you give children the false hope of a "happy ending", when the truth is that happiness is a fleeting and temporary emotion?

i'm not criticising any movies/shows. i just think it's a little unfair to grow up with such hopes and expectations only to watch them shatter into a million piercing fragments by bitter, unmerciful reality.
