Hello to those who carry us in their hearts and their humanitarian actions. I know that you have felt bored towards us, but we are also dying every second from the oppression and woes of the merciless war. The war has lasted for almost a year and a half. Imagine, as a human being, living under all this pressure and suffering, food, drink, displacement, and fear, and you do not have anything in your hands. Please, I am a mother with two children. I am not important. What is important is my children. You are needed. You can help me with anything. Please, I speak to you with your conscience and humanity. Everything has become more expensive than ever before, and we can barely get it because of the severe siege on us. My children have lost a lot of weight due to the lack of nutrition, and on top of all this, they have been deprived of their childhood. We no longer have a life. We could die at any time. At least your help can enable them to do what they need and to buy them what they want before anything bad happens. Do not be lenient. I know that you are fed up and bored, but at least you can help me and be a support to me and my children.

Shadow to light before a storm
she sits unseen. watches. not idly, but as a study of a study to a study; unconscious of her breathing, or not breathing. the surrounding trees, in full view to everything and no one at all, watch too—silent witnessing a field outstretched afire. the only sound this fire begets, begins small-like, almost with insignificance. but soon, the distant murmur of fire grows from gloaming white noise, to the bedlam of absolute chaos. she watches fire reach its sharpened fingers, grabbing as shadow to light before a storm— she watches fire consume timber. timber to homes. timber to barns and sheds. she can feel fire in her bones, the echo of it masticating in her mind—imagery of fire bending timber; capping it swiftly where the weakness of rotting wood was, in order to greet its collapse behind teeth. the sound of surrender never sounded more terrifying. final and abstract. the woman who watches, watches the fire spread and roam from field to field beyond. seeing without seeing exactly how, knowing, while knowing exactly that air feeds it.

"The light presses down..."
by Frank O’Hara
The light presses down in an empty head the trees and bushes flop like a little girl imitating The Dying Swan the stone is hot the church is a Russian oven and we arc traveling still
you come by to type your poems and write a new poem instead on my old typewriter while I sit and read a novel about a lunatic’s analysis of a poem by Robert Frost it is all suffocating
I am still traveling with Belinda Lee where does she take me Africa where it is hot enough even to make the elephant angry and the grass is all withered and TV color
why do I always read Russian exile novels in summer I guess because they’re full of snow and it is good to cry a little to match your sweat and sweat a little to match their tears
