Another question now that in came into head. Nevin and Drew moved from Michigan to California, yes? Was there a reason they moved, and how many places have they gone?

I kind of imagine that their home in california is the nicest home they've lived in, and that the stars just sort of aligned for them to move there. that their abuela got an equally good or better job as a chef there, wanted to live in a warmer climate, and also probably wanted to retire in california anyway. I think their house in michigan was also not big enough for all of them, and drew and nevin probably shared a room there.

for most of their early lives they lived in the middle of nowhere in arkansas, but eventually moved to chicago where their dad and his wife lived. when their home life there turned out to be terrible, and their dad felt unqualified to take care of his kids (whom he barely knew because they'd lived with their biological mom for so long), he handed them over to HIS mom who lived in michigan.
