Literally the other day I was thinking how inmensly lucky I was to have this basic program that works perfectly fine and the developers never force any stupid updates that overhaul everything or add annoying features that no one asked for.

They know it works, they know people are happy with it, they know there's no need to change anything. This is how everything digital should be.

All these big companies changing their logos a dozen of times for something that looks worse every time, while the real all-time GOAT found the winning formula on the first try and then even did a victory lap with it:

I need the world to see the information screens on current AVE trains in Spain

It looks like an edutainment videogame that would come for free with a box of cereals.

These high speed trains (s-102/112) entered service in the 2000s, and they never bothered to change the interface. Although they did make an effort to update the AVE logo to the new one.

And yes, the train was stopped in the middle of nowhere because a Ouigo had broken down ahead... Thanks France!
