Not really into some serious love story lately. I got curious about this film coz UDD's Indak is part of the movie's soundtrack, but ghaadd, the story. I swear I felt like I can relate to it. I wish I was able to fly to Manila just to watch this. Sigh.

I hope they won’t mind that I took some screen shots from the trailer of Sana Dati. I am not, in any way, affiliated with its cast, production, etc. I am just so inlove with this film and I can’t wait to watch it. This drawing is based on a “A Murder of One” by Counting Crows which always makes me so happy to hear because I was listening to it on the walkman one happy sunny day in 1996. The lyrics are pretty depressing and even if I know them by heart, I could never feel the sadness of the writer, just the joy of that day.

On the flipside there are songs like “No One” by Alicia Keys that is a joyful declaration of love that has the opposite effect on me. It has a great inspiring melody but I always feel a bit sad hearing it since it was playing on a very heart breaking day. It was also sunny that day but I remember the long shadows that were cast instead. I know many people who think of U2s “One” as great love song but Bono wrote that about his marital problems yet it is constantly used as a wedding song. A singer friend of mine recently released song about feeling awkwardly sad about a female friend not talking to her anymore and yet her long time fans INSISTS that it is about a boy and lost romantic love.

We give our own personal meaning to songs regardless of the lyrics or the original intent of the creators.

“Gangnam Style” is actually a smart satire on the excessive lifestyle of Korea’s burgois district but to the rest world it will forever be a funny fat man horse dancing with sexy ladies.

Complicated stuff these songs and our feelings.
