Problem and mission statement
In a problem statement, the main point is to solve the right problem that the company was facing and the right problem will leads the company to find the right solutions that are essential for the company. Problems statement is “Many employee working just thinking doing their ‘works’ as an obligation without doing the best to contribute to the company, they don’t have the motivation to do more in their works.”
Whereas the mission statement is the outcome or solution expected to answer the problems in the problem statement. The mission statement could be “Creating a sense of belonging where employee cares and motivated to contribute in their works environment by maximizing their performance in their own function at the company.”
Potential solutions
To answer the problems occur in the employee capabilities, there are several potential solutions that will help solved the problems. The potential solutions includes getting the employee engaged and feel that they are the part of the big family (each roles has their own contribution to the company success), listen to their opinion that will grow respect and togetherness in the team, give the employee a routine training and lastly but not least is to encourage employees to solve problem not avoiding them. By doing this, it will help creating and encourage employees to have sense of belonging to the company.
Requirements and constraints
As every project will have a targeted budget, timeline, and expected deliverables, it will effect the employee capabilities. For example, a project expected that their employee will increase the efficiency of manufacturing from producing 1,000 pcs of products into 2,000 pcs of products with limited budget offered and short time given such as 1 week. This requirements offered in the project will limit the employee capabilities that might resulted in low quality or unachievable project.
Success criteria
Success criteria is crucial in every project planning that it will essentially tells you what the result will look like once you finish the project, this could works as an guidance. It related to the employee capabilities for they could refer the project expectation and the result that they should generate in the end. For example, the project expected the employee to generate profit of $10,000/ month where it generated $6,000/ month. Thus the success criteria might be sales is increasing as a resulted from effective marketing and expenses decreasing as the producing cost decreasing due increasing in efficiency. Then it will help the employee to keep their capabilities in accordance to the guidance in order to achieve the project planning.
Project Proposal
Project proposals are documents designed to present a plan of action, outline the reasons why the action is necessary, and convince the reader to agree with and approve the implementation of the actions recommended in the body of the document. The project proposal is an overview of the project. It will affect the employee’s capabilities. For example, the variable of the project was not measure properly within the capabilities of the employee, if there are some problems happen, the project will failed to work. And employees cannot make full use of their strengths to overcome the problem. Project proposal might include the distribution of employees in the company. If it misdistribution, the employee capability cannot be used efficient as well.
Estimated
In the company perspective, companies that are focusing on the employee capability are the companies that are dependable on the employee knowledge for the success of the company, means that the companies have to create regularly training and also meeting for the employee in order to give them guidance in gaining experiences and understanding to create a better quality improvement.
Talking about the business continuity plan, it will directly involved budget estimated of every project that should be created. However, there might be a possibility that the budget created might be above the target or below the target. Some estimation can be done by seeing the previous similar project but if there is a circumstances that the company did not have a similar project done previously then a company have to develop estimate scratch. For the company that are focusing on the employee capability, it better to have a “Top Down estimates rather than Bottom Up estimates” because if the top management have inform the budget correctly, then the employee will have the capability to know how much efforts that they have to make for a particular projects and it will also take less time consuming.
Furthermore, the company should also have to create a budget estimation in order to make the employee in the company feel comfort and can contribute a good effort of knowledge for the success of the company. A budget for the employee can be created for the purpose in providing insurance and Jamsostek for the employee, giving training and also giving employee vacation by this way, the employee can see the loyalty of the company in hiring a knowledge employee like them.
Project sponsor
In a company especially focusing on the employee capability, the project sponsors can be the top management such as the CEO, the one that know everything about the company. He also has the knowledge to take a good benefiting decision for the company. In creating a business continuity plan and disaster recovery, employee capability to express all of their knowledge is needed especially to improve for the better. The CEO will directly ask the project managers to be responsible for the project to be authorized and ask for the project documents approval, budget expenditures and schedules.
However, not every company operate the same, it actually depend on the company of how they want to do it for the better. Having a good project sponsors will bring a good success factor to the company as he has the knowledge and idea to improve like by giving guidance to the upper management. Even though, if we are talking about the business continuity planning, it will be hard to assess who is the project sponsors because it consists of many people that are really important in taking part to build the best business continuity plan for the company benefit.

Disaster could strike your company anytime and destruct your valuable data. Many company has gone bankrupt after they lost their data and unable to restore it due to no preparation of a disaster that might strike anytime.
Out of band solution is one example of Disaster Recovery Planning (DRP) which enable company remotely access and control their data. In a disaster, there’s huge possibility that the IT infrastructure such as computer, network, electricity and so on are broken down. If this happen, the company wouldn’t able to operate their business normally and that will cause a lot of cash to fly away. So it is very important to have a DRP to recover as quickly as possible in case that disaster strike. A DRP is not only about the infrastructure but it about ensuring that the company will be able to recover ASAP and reduce the loss caused by the disaster (reduce the data loss risk).
In DRP it is very important to have a backup connection in case of the network failure to connect, install a dial up connection or other type of connection in case of the main network failure.
By preparing DRP, company could increase up time and ensure maximum data availability to sustain their business. A DPR is a worth spend investment because it ensure data availability, increase up time and promotes man power utilization. By pinpoint these points, a company could reduce cost and operates more efficiently. A DPR is a must plan in order to safeguard the company’s business sustainability from data loss risk cause by disaster.
