Set between the final chapter & the epilogue of A Series of Rooms, this is the story of Liam & Jonah taking their first unsteady steps in a new city, in a new life, and putting a name to this burning thing between them.

Author rambles beneath the cut:

These two lovebirds weren’t quite done with me yet. As I sat down to write my next book (with some progress made, rest assured!), they wouldn’t let go of me, whispering in my ear that there was still a piece of their story that wanted to be told.

What started as a short story quickly unraveled to a full blown novella (and frankly, began to push the limits of what constitutes a novella word count).

The ending of A Series of Rooms leaves Liam & Jonah in a good & hopeful place, but I think it’s clear to anyone who knows their story that building the kind of intimate relationship they want to have will be no easy feat. The baggage they carry is not the sort that can be dropped on apartments floors. nor can their broken hearts simply be put in a drawer (iykyk).

Survivors of trauma deserve their happily ever afters, too. Even if the road there looks a little different. Forever is theirs for the taking, but it may require some messy, clumsy, stumbling steps to get there.

I am so, so happy to finally share this news with you—and I hope you’re just as happy to hear about it. A little Friday treat, for old time’s sake.

Hiya!

I woke at 4a from a dream about Jonah and Liam. I don’t remember exactly what happened, but there was a flash of the book cover and then random scenes in a montage to the song Hand in Hand by Walking on Cars.

It was still going when I woke up again at 7:30. I wish I remembered more of it.

Am now listening to this song for the first time :,)))
