vi saying "someday this city's gonna respect us" hits hard when you realize yeah she's up topside now and maybe some of piltover respects her but she's definitely lost any and all respect from zaun in the process

i think yellow guy would have a pet rock named cyrus whom he'd love dearly and i also believe he'd collect and hoard rocks in his pockets

i love and hate the parallel between episode 3's breakdown after vi told her to stay put and episode 6's breakdown after the firelights take vi. it loops in my head endlessly and won't get out

in both scenes she starts out as powder- powder is the one who's afraid, upset, who feels abandoned, the small little girl who only just wants her sister, who cries and calls out for her

and when the silence becomes too loud and there's nobody to drown and reassure her thoughts those walls come tumbling down and jinx is the one who screams

i love that we get introduced to jinx literally within the first scene of arcane and we just don't know it. jinx is clearly the embodiment and the result of all of powder's trauma; including witnessing the loss of her parents and all the violence on the bridge. when i rewatched arcane i noticed there are glitches in the bridge scene just like we see when jinx is hallucinating

i think jinx has always been there, she's just been buried and hidden under the surface

Does no one else think it's crazy, that instead of Jinx being Silco's daughter and carrying out his legacy, she is painted as continuing Vander's legacy. Vander, who was about protecting the Undercity. And then Vi, who is outside the light and color of the mural. The opposition. Like, Silco's legacy died with him. But Vander's lives on, not through Vi, like we thought, but through Jinx. Jinx isn't the outsider, the misfit anymore. The Undercity looks to her, hails her as its leader. It's beacon. The roles between the sisters have changed, with Vi on the outside looking in.

Time to talk about Jinx's monsters...

Mylo is the scariest, even without the scribbles, and Jinx is terrified of him.

She's much less frightened of Claggor, and remembers him closer to what he really was. His scribble has what looks like stitching over his mouth, like his doll does. Maybe because he was so quiet.

Is that younger Vander? Closer to the Vander that found the girls on the bridge? He alternates between that and shimmer-monster Vander. I find the screaming scribble that younger, stoic Vander gets especially haunting.

Silco is framed as one of Jinx's monsters. He's angular and toothy, snarling like the red monster that's enclosing Jinx in its jaws.

And that's the great irony of this scene. Because, yeah Silco *is* a monster in a sense, but not in this scene. Here he's trying to save Jinx from her monsters. He sees the pain Jinx is in.

Vi thinks she's trying to save Powder, but she's retraumatizing her. She's making her monsters, just like she did when they were kids. And this time she's not the one who chases them away.

He was absolutely ITCHING to sing an “I want” song.

Just tearing at the seams trying to contain a serenade about magic and saving the city and friendship while kissing every bird that lands on his finger and chasing dandelions.

Unfortunately he’s on trial for Having Too Much Fun (building a nuclear device in his college dorm with contraband). Many such cases.
