Ouija is a demon, and sometimes a misbehaved cat...this time, definitely a demon. First time stitching a “human” face, and it turned out pretty well. And those roses are a new technique I picked up, too--not sure what to call them, but they are made by weaving.

the gang’s all here! I’ve been enjoying stitching these guys...not super challenging, and they give me the opportunity to play with color.

Here’s the latest mushroom! I finally realized i can use a color wheel to make these guys pop, thus the blue and orange. it’s a brooch with the unusual trait of matching absolutely nothing!

Skull Eye For The Trans Guy? Trans Eye For The Skull Guy???
Early attempt at satin stitch so uhhhhh it’s pretty sloppy. But i still really like how it turned out! The multi-colored roses are something new, too.

this little guy turned out pretty well i think! i tried going for a more simplified design because the realistic (well, kind of) one was a pain in the ass.

Finally finished these guys! I found my screw punch at school with my grommets (......right where i put them) Fun fact: I used a pot to hammer the grommets in. Doesn’t work that well, and I don’t recommend it.

Really love how this guy came out...I’ll have to do more mushrooms in the future, because they are very fun. The mushroom itself is satin stitch with french knots for the polka dots, and the border is plain old blanket stitch.

Wow, this thing took me forever. The tree is done with chain stitch and lazy daisies (so....all chain stitch really) and the rest is satin stitch. I think the outer edge alone took 5 hours?
I was going for something somewhat biblical, but more with an aesthetic eye than a spiritual one I would say.

This isn’t quite done yet, but I misplaced my japanese screw punch, so for the time being I can’t make it into a keychain. I’m thinking about doing a whole series of pride flag keychains like this and possibly dusting off my etsy to sell them.
You can see I switched from satin stitch to blanket stitch for the edges--I need to be more gentle with my joints, they are starting to ache when I craft for too long :/

Nonbinary keychain in progress! I swear that satin stitch is killer. I can’t decide whether to keep making them with satin stitch or to switch to blanket stitch. Satin stitch looks better, but I could sell them for less if the edges didn’t take two hours.

First experiment with satin stitch borders, so they turned out a little wonky....oops. I still love how this turned out and might do more queer id badges like this--we’ll see!

I love this little guy--a counter to my demon seals, you could say. This is a Throne, a sort of biblical angel. And my first proper patch that you have to stitch or safety pin on yourself (does that make it more punk or just more work?)

A little bit of practice with bullion knot roses.

I don’t think I’m going to finish this project, but it was my first stab at a bracelet (and at a herringbone ladder--it looks like that because I did a bad job and tried to hide it by stacking another one on top lol)

A Christmas gift for my friend Kate! She saw me working on it as a stress relief project before the semester was over and commented that it was her aesthetic--so this has been waiting for her for months!
Oops--forgot to post this after I gave it to her! Oh well, better late than never.

This is a birthday present for my friend Kate! Decided against my usual floral motif because of that “lol like a plant?” nonsense people like to spout about aces. And aces are absolute gems :) This was also my first go at lettering in that style, which I like a lot better than my previous attempts.

This key chain was a Hanukkah gift for my friend Theo. They love the aesthetic of the misty, cool coniferous forest (and who doesn’t?) and I was really excited to give this to them.
The key chain is made of four layers of felt--the pine tree is simple enough except for a couple stitches I added horizontally around the trunk to give it more of corseted look (can a tree look corseted? you know what I mean...I hope). The reverse side features three roses made of bullion knots with leaves done with the lazy daisy stitch.
To get the grommet in, I got to use this amaaaaazing thing called a Japanese Screw Punch (sounds more violent than it is)...I really recommend it if you do bookbinding or any craft that requires punching a small hole in the middle of fabric of another thick material.
