previously i talked about my frustration about the way the book of atlantic adaption skimped out on one of my favourite scenes where ciel extends a hand to help sebastian up into the boat (after a bizarre doll bites sebs' leg) which is obviously annoying enough that it was scrapped from the animation but there's more

ciel was about to fall asleep (hypothermia) right before seb is bitten. also look at sebs' face:

anyway cuteness of the framing aside

ciel is immediately woken by sebs being attacked and becomes completely alert. sebastian trying to wake him wasn't what prevented him from falling asleep, but rather sebastian getting hurt. and i think it's a shame anime-onlys and those w/o full time access to the manga (and multiple rereads of it) haven't seen/noticed/remembered this scene in its entirety.

sebaciel hand kiss with seb being so obsessed with ciel’s hands that ciel decides to push it a little:33 strokes his hand through seb’s hair and then cups his jaw just to tilt seb’s eyes up towards him. seeing this earnest look of almost awe in seb’s eyes just spurs ciel on, he traces his thumb over seb’s lower lip and — still not breaking his gaze — seb parts his lips and sucks ciel’s thumb into his mouth. closes his eyes as ciel runs his thumb over sebastian’s teeth, breaking skin when he makes contact with a canine tooth. sebastian almost moans and just urges ciel’s thumb deeper into his mouth, sucking and licking to get a taste of his master’s blood. ciel pulls his thumb slowly out past sebastian’s lips, freed with a quiet pop, pulling down sebastian’s lower lip as he goes.

sebastian still stares at him with not a hint of mockery or amusement. instead there’s a haze or lack of focus; one that sebastian very rarely exhibits. it’s only in moments such as these where ciel is bold and sebastian is pliant, that manages to blow out sebastian’s pupils and reduces him to ciel’s obedient dog. the only goal behind those pretty eyes right now is to worship and serve ciel to his fullest potential <3

I made a spreadsheet of the shots from ep 3 so slowly but surely I'm getting down to reanimating it, even if not in its entirety, some scenes need serious love and I will stand by that.
