Digital 3D model created in Sketchup. Instead on metal to create the nest edges/ claws, we decided to use wood instead as aesthetically looks better plus, it's both easier to create the shape and is much cheaper to produce. It was hard to create a 3d model in sketchup.

Final 3D design.
For our final design we wanted the sculpture to surround of the main trees in site one, with 3 to 5 seats circling in front of it. We wanted the the seats mostly point out on the view so people can sit and lookout into the Brisbame landscape. To create this model, we spot wielded recycled steel wire together to create a frame/ stand in which, the clay can be easily moulded.

Victoria Park also known as Barrabin is an indigenous historical site. The grounds in which now sit a park was a gathering place for trade, dream time, and socialising. Once an indigenous ground turned into a golf course. Now that a council claimed the grounds, there is a plan to change the area back into what the area pre golf course.

With communicating with Gillies about some ideas, I have produced a main concept idea that connects the indigenous grounds, native wildlife, and the local Brisbane community together. The idea is to develop a nest like sculpture with a seating area in which, relates back back to the history of gathering and trade within the indigenous tribes. The seating is shaped as ibis bird eggs and the claws coming out of the ground supposed to create a sense warmth as it presence itself as a nest.

I have teamed up with Dominic Gillies on a sculptural designing project in Victoria Park, QUT. We were given site 1 produce a concept design in that area. Here are some photographs of site 1 showing off the fields and views of the Brisbane area.

I wanted to design something in sketch that was both modern and abstract; fit in with the themes of the QUT CI precinct. The material I thought about using in glass, wood and a reflective mirror to create shadow and a sense on depth. The shapes used is both circular and cubic.

The sculpture was a combination piece; created from clay and paper. Shaped into balls we stuck them together in a repetitive pattern.

This digital sculpture was created in sketchup. I wanted create something different. I was inspired by the genre, science fiction, and the shape of the star ships. I made the materials glass and metal in which, if the sculpture was made in real life it would be eco-friendly. It would be made out of recycled glass and metal. I made the setting a house to show off how people could display the front of their house in the future.
