Archie is so protective over Betty and it shows because Jughead wanted to call her, bringing her into this mess perhaps not thinking clearly but Archie without hesitation was like HELL NO.

listen friends to lovers isn’t boring if it’s drawn out and has some angst in there as well. that makes it arguably 100% better than tropes of “love at first sight” or zero build up that goes straight into fucking, so don’t get it confused with those ✌️

For everyone complaining about Barchie being non sense, I actually think bettyxarchie is instead one of the few and most logical things that has been happening on the show so far. Saying that Barchie was suddently thrown at us with no logic means you haven't paid attention to all the hints that were given to us throughout these 4 seasons.
I mean they've had a strong and deep bond since forever and Betty has always had a crush on him. It was only a matter of time.
The fact that Betty then got with Jug after having her heart broken by archie in s1 doesn't mean she got over him, she has just repressed those feelings all this time. And that doesn't mean she didn't/doesn't love Jughead, I only think she's not IN love with him anymore.
Because let's say it: you do not kiss another person and look at them longingly all the time if you're happy with the relationship you're currently in. No matter how confused you may be, you can't say you're still in love with that person.

I'm gonna write a veeeeery long post about Las Chicas del Cable (Cable Girls) because it soon turned out to be one of my all time favorite tv shows. I really got attached to it and I feel like I have to say something about it, especially after seeing season 5.1 and being totally disappointed with it.
Let me start with the fact that the story developed too quickly between seasons. From season to season there was always this long time gap (usually months) in which so many important events occured that we never got to experience. Examples?
Season 1 - 2 transition : Lidia suddently finds herself in a totally different role in a totally different company run by total strangers. I liked the fact that her career had been developing, it perfectly conforms to what I consider to be one of the most important topics of the whole show : emancipation. What I didn't like is that we didn't get to see how all this happened, how much effort she put in her work, and how she handled all that messy situation of season 1 finale.
Season 2 - 3 transition : we don't get to see Eva's birth, which would have been imo so important to see after the last episode of season 2. We went from the tragedy of Lidia and her unborn baby almost dying to a happily ever after like nothing happened, six months later.
But let's talk about season 5 and how the character of Carlos has been (mis)treated.
Starting from the beginning: since the first episode of season 1 I fell in love with Francisco. I still appreciate him deeply after 5 seasons and I stan lidia x francisco. What I like most about him and makes me think that he's the perfect match for Lidia and they should be endgame is the fact that he's always shown such a selfless, pure, intense and all-encompassing love for Lidia. He's always put her happiness first even though that would mean breaking his own heart by even walking her down the aisle to another man (a man who - besides - is like a brother to him).
But loving Francisco so much and wishing him and Lidia a happy ending doesn't mean I dislike Carlos or want him to suffer.
I LOVE Carlos. And I totally think he deserved better. It's a shame how writers mistreated him.
He was an AMAZING character, well written and complex in a beautiful way. He embodied an imperfect but beautiful human being : full of flaws but pure at heart. He was complicated, he would often let his emotions overcome him and therefore he made many mistakes, but he DEEPLY loved Lidia and Eva. It was unbelievable how he was turned into such a non supportive partner to Lidia in season 4 when it comes to finding the baby.
Let's get to Lidia deciding to leave for NY with Francisco and Eva. I love them together as a family and I'm so happy we got to see that, but them being happy didn't necessarily mean cutting off Carlos from their lives. This whole thing of Carlos not trying to contact them and Eva is so out of character. Carlos may have been jealous and angry at them, especially at the beginning, but he would have never left things as they were, giving up on his own daughter.
Season 5 : what I call non sense.
Another time gap of 7 years, if I remember correctly. We are thrown into this idyllic life of Lidia and Francisco in NY without even getting to experience it, which makes it all so distant and hard to get attached to, even if you're their hugest supporter like I am.
Lidia goes back to Spain to follow Sofia and there she casually bumps into Carlos while looking for her. I get that writers tried to convey Carlos' pain in this broken soul that is so unrecognizable. It's okay, he's suffered so much for Lidia and his daughter and pain has changed him, hardened him. But I cannot accept the fact that writers depicted him as an uncaring father. I don't care if he 'didn't want to testify Lidia and Francisco's happiness', that's out of character. Period.
And last but not least : HE DID NOT DESERVE TO DIE, ESPECIALLY NOT THAT WAY.
How brutal was that? How could they cut off such an important and appreciated character? They had no rispect for him. He deserved to see his daughter once again, not to die like an animal.
It's not all black and white. Lidia chose Francisco over him 7 years before but that didn't mean he couldn't have had a happy ending too with his daughter. He deserved so much more.
