I’m trying to translate Demanitus’s scroll, and I keep seeing people trying for literal translations. 

I personally think that the scroll is written with each symbol representing a WORD not a LETTER. Whereas in one shot we do see the scroll translated letter-by-letter, the original scroll was NOT written like that. I have a hand written copy + screenshots to prove that. 

Plus, words don’t have to have literal translations. I think maybe a few of the symbols are runes combined, and just runes. Runes twisted to be slightly different. Like to Othala rune–I found something that looks very similar to it on the scroll! I think it might be part of the “bring back what once was mine” because it’s the rune for possession! I also found another that is the rune for protection–Algiz–that looks like a slightly twisted version of a symbol I found at the bottom of the page, which could be “save what has been lost.” like, protecting it? Wish me luck.

But yeah I’m going to crash out if I see ONE more person trying to translate the scroll letter by letter! There ARE languages (like Mandarin) that have word-symbols over letter-symbols. *banshee screams*

He has torn it all apart, now she’s watching it, burn. Watching it burn!The world has no right to her heart, the world has no place in their bed, we don’t get to know what she said, she’s burning the memories, burning the letters that might have redeemed him!
