You know what would be funny?
If the alliances in the 3QQ were switched up, like Haymitch gives his token to Jo instead of Finnick so now it’s 7-12 and 3-4 alliances. Or better yet if everyone somehow gets mixed up so now we have Wiress Blight Peeta and Finnick and Beetee Katniss Jo and Mags 😭😭😭 the chaos of the second group is gonna be wild and they would all be miserable without their district partners and Katniss and Jo would have to do overtime since Bee would get stabbed and Mags needs to be carried/walks slowly, not to mention that Jo and Katniss would be seconds away from fighting
Meanwhile Finnick Peeta Wiress and Blight are just chilling as they figure it out, Finnick is doing overtime by reviving everyone but hey Blight is still kicking!
We could of course switch people like Finnick goes to team 2 and Mags to 1 but the possibilities are endless
ESPECIALLY if we add 11, 6 and 8 to the roster (imagine an AU where the bloodbath had less casualties) I’d love to see Seeder Woof and Cece in other teams like Cece Wire Bee Blight and Chaff
Or Seeder Katniss Finnick Alina(the female morphing)
Or Peeta Jo Mags Woof and Xander(the male morphing)
God I could think about the rebel alliance for ages they are so precious to me

Entering the big 3 of Wire’s relationship thoughts with Mags, aka probably my favorite relationship to think about
We all know that Mags is a very beloved victor among the victors, but Wiress(and Haymitch)? They have a special thing. I mentioned in a post long ago that Mags was the only elder figure that Wiress could rely on during the quell, with Beetee being occupied by mentoring his kids, coming up with a plan and the potato stand he was largely unavailable(not a Beetee shade), and to Wiress, who is so fresh out of her arena having to mentor not two but FOUR kids must have been crazy, I said too that imo Wire put on a brave face to the kids, as the last thing they need is an unreliable mentor, but behind closed doors, Mags was the only one who saw how much of a toll her first time mentoring felt, especially with so much at stake. Just like the way she let Haymitch drop his guard and cry in her arms, Mags would hold Wiress too when the kids fell asleep. She would guide her to dos and don’ts of mentoring, help her with the drills and the protocols, in that way, Mags also became a mentor to Wiress. Another way they connected was unfortunately through trauma. As both were tortured viciously by Snow, and Mags I think felt immense sorrow and pain at the fact that she couldn’t do anything at all to protect Wiress, whether they were tortured together or separate there’s no doubt that they were the first to see each other post torture, and I imagine it was nightmare inducing when you see such a bright girl who did everything she could to help children escape certain death and to aid the rebellion that would ensure nobody would go through what they went through get so horribly punished for it. She would certainly get better in the future, certainly smile at Mags whenever the 2 would have the time for a quick exchange in the mentor’s lounge, with both of them struggling through their words it would be a bit difficult to communicate but they do it, and they each year see Haymitch lose himself to alcohol, and it I imagine isn’t easy for either of them, in a twisted turn of fate it’s another way that they bonded in, because I truly do believe they too tried to help/support the victor of the quell, only to be either pushed away or simply not having enough time in their brief interactions. Their story is very very sad and overlooked imo. When Mags would bring back home a victor she could at least be there for them through the tour/moving into the victors village, but she was not given an opportunity to truly be there for neither Haymitch nor Wiress, it’s a very difficult thing to go through I think oh Mags and Wiress my dear mentors😔😔
But as always a lighter hc is: baking buddies. HEAR ME OUT❗️ they are the kind of baking buddies as in “I will bake and you will entertain me” with Mags baking and Wiress infodumping about everyone and everything, Wire really loves fruit tarts(personal hc) and Mags is more of a pie person, solution? They bake humongous tarts in pie forms. They invite Haymitch too and it’s a club, because now while Mags bakes she has a full blown podcast going on.

I’m sick so Beetress sick hcs today it is
I feel like Beetee doesn’t get sick often, he has a surprisingly good immune system BUT on a rare occasion when he does get sick it’s a disaster, the entirety of three’s victors village is in chaos, he’s going all “Tell Wiress that she can have all of my ties once I’m gone” and somehow ends up infecting EVERYONE in the village (I hc that D3 has 4-5 victors, and almost everyone has at least 2 fam members so they are quite a lively village)
Wire on the other hand will deny that she’s sick until the fact is inevitable, she’ll be like “So what if I have a fever, it’s hot outside” and it’ll be February. She’ll have to be physically dragged out of her workshop and will continue to be all gloomy about it, it gets better with time but in her early years as victor she’d be the stubbbornest sick person Panem has ever seen.

My darkest Three headcanon is that where the Careers train their kids for the Games, and the outlying Districts are just scraping by, Three's conditions creates a populace not just geared towards anti-Capitol action but uniquely able to carry it out.
Three is a massive hotbed of rebellion and has seen multiple revolts and the rise of several different homebred rebel groups.
This just so happens to mean their kids generally go into the arena with skills and a plan. It is why their tributes have an overwhelming tendency towards technological kills.
Three is also a very insular District. They aren't much concerned with the other Districts, which are seen as liabilities.
Some previous revolts by Three include:
Hacking Three's broadcast during the Games
Many labour strikes and general riots
Creating their own hidden information network (by the time of the 75th they're on v3.2)
A shipment of holo-projectors that had 'faulty wiring' causing explosions
This of course has led to Capitol action against the District, including:
Delayed food shipments
Power cuts to the main city
A massive factory fire due to 'poorly maintained safety standards'
A not insignificant number of citizens have been taken to Capitol prisons (or at least that's the party line, who knows what really happened)
Raised quota of factory workers and slashed jobs opportunities for researchers, alongside reduced wages and a strict crackdown on official educational curriculum
A blatant tendency to Reap the brightest children and the children of those connected to rebellious activity

Okay I made a post the other day about how Bee was stressing the hell out during Wire’s games and another aspect that I forgot to include was the fact that he probably dreaded the fact that there is a very high chance that the next time he sees her is on a hologram in the sky, I bet the guy even had nightmares about it, and the worst part? That nightmare actually came true 26 years later when he saw her face on the hologram, the fact that he knew that the chances of him getting her body would be minimal, so he forced himself to look at her since he knew that this is his last chance to see his companion again only adds insult to the injury

One of my fav hcs of Beetress before they got together is that whenever Wiress works on an invention/cooks/does any other chore it’s accompanied by light singing/humming, she’s just used to do it and it’s sorta autopilot, by that point they’ve been working together for some time and Bee just casually mentions that he likes silence which makes Wire feel a bit bad bc it must be harder for him to focus bc she’s always making noise, so for a bit she stops humming when they work together and that in turn puts Beetee in stupor, bc he is a bit dense and now something is wrong but he doesn’t know what is wrong until it’s been a few weeks and it hits him like a brick: It’s too silent! That’s what he tells Wire which ends up confusing her even more bc “didn’t you say you liked silence😭😭” but who knew that apparently he actually loves silence as if ‘no one is talking or making loud noises and Wire’s voice is always welcome’ so yeah they’re idiots who eventually figure it out and now they work like a perfect team!
That is until Bee has to work in complete silence again in district 13

It’s Wiress relationships hc time! Featuring her and The Female Morphing! Who I will call Alina bc she deserves a name. The 2 victors are quite similar aren’t they? Both won their games via hiding, only Alina was consumed by addiction while Wiress didn’t succumb to it. I believe that they were each other’s mirrors in some way, they could end up exactly like one another but they didn’t. D6 is also a tech based district so they were both quite smart, to add to their similarities. Then there is the topic of whether she won before or after Wiress. I believe that she won the 47/48th games. And seeing as D6 didn’t have any known victors she likely was forced into mentoring in her very first year as a victor(just like Wiress will be) ,and how horrible would it be to have your first tribute make it to the final 2? You can’t help but get attached to the first children you mentor, they always will be etched into your memory as the first of many children you failed to save, but for a brief moment, Alina thinks, hopes, maybe a miracle can happen and her boy is going to make it, In such a horrible arena like the nest of mirrors too? The boy from 6 had every chance to win, but a girl from 3, one she didn’t even know was still in the games outsmarted him and she watched him crack his head on a mirror and drown. And of course, Alina knows that the newest victor was just trying to survive, just like she did, but she can’t help but feel bitter still. And then when Wiress has to mentor for the quell they don’t become friends instantly, but their kids are part of an alliance, so they become familiar with each other. And look at that, her girl Wellie, makes it to the final 3, she knows better not to get attached now, especially with a deadly contender like Silka going after her, but the boy from 12 uses his last strength to defend Wellie, against everything Alina hopes again. But the odds are never in her favor it seems, Wellie is decapitated, another death that she is sure she’ll see haunt her nightmares again and again, and Wiress’ boy takes the win, she decided that it’s better than the girl from 1, the girl who killed little Wellie. But at the back of her mind she echoes:Wiress brought home a victor on her first time mentoring , and for a moment, a little moment Alina feels that bitterness again. That feeling haunts her when she sees exactly what price Wiress would pay for bringing back home a victor. From then she falls into her addiction, and Wiress becomes even more closed off and scattered, and Alina begins to think that they aren’t too different. I believe that it takes them at least a decade to get closer, both already very deep in their demons, but there is an understanding, a strange, one but an understanding nonetheless. They, much like Wiress and Brutus aren’t friends, but they are similar in more ways than they realize, and that’s why when they are eventually reaped into the third quarter quell they aren’t surprised to see each others faces when they watch the other districts reapings on the train. And when they meet in the training center, when they meet late at night to discus the rebellion, they aren’t surprised. They are quite similar after all.
On a brighter note the lighter hc for their friendship is that while Alina is a pro artist Wiress sucks, like she SUCKS at art. My girl just can’t draw for the life of her, Alina can’t and won’t stop teasing her about it, but whenever the victor from 6 would talk about her art techniques Wiress would always listen very attentively, hence she knows quite a lot about art theory!

I keep thinking about how stressed Beetee was during the 49th, like Wiress runs off in the very beginning and he just..like what does one do in this situation 😭 on one hand I bet he was relieved and proud that she hid so well, on another he was terrified, what if a mutt followed her there? what if the capitol took liberties and quietly eliminated a tribute who dared to outsmart them? What if she didn’t take enough food or water and she had no way of receiving any without getting out? what if she had a wound and he couldn’t send her anything? So for the duration of the games he just sat for hours trying to pick up anything on her location, only to turn out empty handed every time. Then the girl goes ahead and wins, and he practically collapses when he sees her for the first time in days/weeks, and she just goes ahead and ducks back into her hiding spot😭 The gears start running again, did she get gravely injured by the boy from 6 and he didn’t see? Did she collapse from starvation or dehydration? Did the Capitol send their beetles at her now that they saw her? He is frantic for the next hour before his girl finally walks out for good and shows herself. That must have been such a tough mentoring experience poor Beetee

A crazy theory I had about Blight is that his parents didn’t want him. His name is somewhat an industry name ‘Blight’ is a sickness that affects plants and trees, and overall has a pretty bad connotation to it. So in a lumber based district naming your kid Blight would allude to something bad. I love him a lot even if he wasn’t given any screen time, and I like to think about what kind of person he was, what moved him to become a part of the rebel plot, did he every try and get close to Jo, only for her to push him away in fear of the Capitol taking away another person close to her? Or did he distance himself from her, knowing the loss of family all too well? In his wiki it said that he was around 50 year old so he won his games somewhere close to Wiress and Chaff, I wonder if they, along with Haymitch later on became sort of buddies, and if then what was his dynamic with everyone. Truly wish we had more informations on other victors
Oh and since I’ve mentioned Wiress my hc for their friendship is that they exchange interesting facts about their specialties every time they meet. After both of their tributes are out, or before the games start, or on some capitol event they would greet each other casually, exchange 1 fact from each and go about their day, sometimes they would hang out a bit more, sometimes go their separate ways, but always exchange an interesting fact. It’s all about little things that keep you sane as a victor after all. And when in the arena they were walking through the thick of the jungle one of the last things Wiress said before the blood rain was a little detail about some machine she was working on, Jo didn’t understand why she would bring it up now of all times and Bee just concluded that Wiress was trying to distract herself, but Blight knew it was meant for him, he countered with a simple remark about a bowl that he carved from his favorite type of wood back home, it was a silent way of them supporting one another.

On today’s Beetress agenda is their uni romance where Bee is an electrical engineering major and Wire is a mechanical engineering major and they have minors in each others fields. Become tutors to each other and fall for each other, like HARD. So they do extra research on the niche just to impress one another. It takes them months to figure it out and they end up happily in love with a very fun ‘how I met your mother’ story Oh my sweet sweet nerds

I wonder how the mentor’s lounge works in the HG, I’ve seen quite a few interpretations in fics that it’s a big room and all mentors sit together, kind of like in TBOSAS but bigger, and I’ve seen interpretations that each district gets a separate room. Idk which one I like better but if we take the first as canon then that would mean that Brutus and Wiress sat close for more than 20 years (assuming Brutus won a little before/after) and then they went into the quell as enemies, not that they were super close friends, there’s nothing pointing to that. But they were, quite literally close. It’s a very curious dynamic to me. I wonder if they were friends, if Brutus was frustrated with her inability to finish sentences, if Wiress saw through the tough career act, if he looked at her with a hint of sorrow whenever one of his tributes would kill one of hers, I wonder if there was a silent companionship between them. They probably weren’t friends, maybe Brutus was replaced as mentor by another victor from 2, maybe Wiress herself wasn’t a mentor if 3 had the fortune of one more victor. But I still think about that not-relationship that they probably had. Idk why I just do
On a brighter note my hc to if they really did have a friendship is that Brutus insists that they don’t use elevators and always use the stairs. Healthy lifestyle and all, so Wiress is surprisingly good with stairs

Whenever I’m sad I imagine Beetress in a super domestic/romcommish scenario like
They’re teachers at a school and they have a very cheesy and whimsical romance, Beetee never fails to mention his lovely wife to his students and they’re very very in love. Like the “They’re so in love it makes their children go sick” kind of love. And overall a school AU would be so sweet with them 😭😭😭

Wait I just realized something. Maya is a bit taller than Kelvin(5cm I think) so in SOTR unless they give him platforms Wire will be taller than Bee, but Jeffrey is like 20 cm higher than Amanda😭😭 Did Wiress shrink or did Beetee have a growth spurt this is so fun to think about
